A good game that no ones knows about.
The shame about this game is that next to nobody bought it. For different reasons sure, but its a game that you mush check you if your a RTS fan. This game was quickly overlooked because of CnC3 and Supreme Commander all came out around the same time. Although for me this game is so much better than those games. This game features something that many RTS games forget, completely different races to play as.
You might say "Well Command and Conquer 3 had different races." Yes, it did, but in reality they were just different models and names for the same exact unit, same type of buildings and tech trees. In this game there is no overlapping of units, each of them are unique to the fractions and they play very differently. Star Wars: Empire at War was also developed by Petroglyph and most people bought that for 2 reasons: Star Wars, and Space battles. it sold well, but in space battles many ships had hard points which you could target and destroy. These where things like the Shield generator, hanger, even laser cannon batteries of the ship, this game takes that hard point system and expands it, allowing you to customize your hard point layout at well. this allows for on the fly change of strategies for the Hierarchy.
This game has flaws, many of them, some balance issues(although not a lot compared to CnC3), some interface issues(such as good hotkeys, games should really take that feature from star craft), and Games for Windows Live. Games for Windows live is the stupidest thing that Microsoft has put out to date, it completely destroyed whatever chance this game had of becoming a great game. But if you can look past all the issues it is almost Starcraft good, and its a shame that it was overlooked because of franchisees that surpassed this. Whats wrong with change? Lot of things comparing the amount of copies sold. Its a good game that shouldn't be overlooked you should all check it out, and the demo sucks compared to the g
