not all games are ala call of duty 4 based in a fictional middle eastern country.
Just look at the list here: medievel and stronghold take place in excisting countries

There's no reason you can't have a real location. There are just a lot of games that take place in an unspecified middle eastern country. If you want to add a particular location, request an addition.

Yeah, of course you can have real locations. But many popular games tend not to.

There's no reason for a location not to have a name. If Bethesda can get away with being very clear that Washington DC has been nuked to oblivion (No pun intended) in Fallout 3, then I see no reason not to set your game wherever you damn well please.

Not all countries are as receptive as the US when it comes to having games / movies / TV shows set in their country, especially if you're going to be blowing stuff up / killing people.

Didn't SOCOM for the PSP have a location like this? ANd it might happen a lot in Call of DUty games and whatnot.

If they want to do something with Saudi Arabia, they'll do it straightly and doubtless. who gives a shit about political concerns of a Loyal country with a drunk-256-wife-king?
And this country is in the middle of desert but these games take place near Arabian Gulf therefore It's most likely to be in Iraq.
