Geography

Jungle in Valenwood

Valenwood is home to beautiful rolling hills and light blue rivers. It is mostly covered by either woodlands or rain-forests. The book A Pocket Guide to the Empire describes it as "A sea of endless green, a maze of foliage with half-hidden cities growing like blooms from a flower, the home of the Bosmer is Tamriel's garden." Cyrodiil makes up the northern border and Elsweyr makes up the eastern border. To the south and west of Valenwood is ocean. The main feature of Valenwood is it's migratory trees that contain whole cities. The largest of these trees is called Falinesti, a mile tall tree that moves south during the winter.

History

A typical Bosmer

Before the Aldmeri came to Valenwood is was inhabited some interesting creatures, some of these include giants, centaurs, minotaurs, hydra, intelligent apes and fairy folk. When the Aldmeri came they had to adapt to the jungle environment and became excellent marksmen, hunters, and masters of stealth. These elves became the present day Bosmer. The Bosmer people had a roller-coaster relationship with the Empire. They were conquered but then were given their freedom, later on the Bosmer returned to their roots and became isolationists. After the Oblivion Crisis the Thalmor seized control of Valenwood along with Sumemerset Isles.

Religion

The Bosmer people worship 11 gods in all: Auri-El, Y'ffre, Arkay, Z'en, Xarxes, Baan Dar, Stendarr, Lorkhan, Herma-Mora, Jone, and Jode. With Y'ffre being the most important.
