Son of a...Valve Not Showing Any Games at E3
Just because they're not showing any games doesn't mean they won't be talking about HL3, right?
I'm convincing myself that I don't care about Episode 3 anymore...
Who am I kidding, most appropriate headline ever

@JB16 said:I'm really starting to believe Half-Life fans are deranged. And you know what, I don't blame them. Every other company in the world wants you to like what they're doing so much, and then when you do, they're all too happy to give you as much of it as you could ever want. Not Valve. They're almost using the possibility of any game having a Half-Life reference in it like a Goddamn bludgeon to cave in the skulls of Half-Life fans. What in mighty fuck's name could they possibly be doing over there? I just have this image of two Valve staff having a meeting."Half-Life 3. We have the technology and the manpower, if we start scheduling man-months of project development now, we could have-""-You know what we should do?""Hrm? No, what?""We should race the office chairs around the hallways again.""Good point, let's table this for now and reconvene in three weeks."
I don't really agree with these sentiments, but they're still effing hi-larious.OMG It is taking every fiber of my being not to spaz out in a complete nerd rage right now...It's been 4 years now how fucking long does it take to release an FPS game that's only supposed to be around FOUR FUCKING HOURS LONG!!!You mean to tell me that Activision can crank out some bullshit CoD game with a full 8 hour campaign and multiplayer every fucking year but Valve can't release just one four hour game in four years!?!
I seriously doubt we'll hear anything about HL3/HL2 Ep3 until after DotA 2 has been released. Didn't Valve say something along those lines, anyways?
At this point can we still expect they call it "Half-Life 2: EPISODE 3" I mean by the time it comes out it would have already been so far apart from the other episodes that it would seem very out of place to bunch it together with the previous two episodic games. I still say they're working on a Half-Life 3 and ensuring it has the drastically different and fresh impact that HL2 had in comparison to HL1.
Valve is one of the most over-rated developers on the planet. I'm glad I won't have to see them at E3. Also, Steam is bull shit.
Okay, well, Valve promised "three surprises." So we've had... one, right? The Portal 2 ARG "early" release thing?

Surprise number one was definitely the Mann Co store, surprise two was probably the Portal 2 ARG. I bet surprise three is DOTA 2 related.Okay, well, Valve promised "three surprises." So we've had... one, right? The Portal 2 ARG "early" release thing?
We're almost half way through the year. PAX Prime, perhaps? That's in August... Valve seem to love their fans, and PAX Prime is probably the best place to hit them with some big news.
This is just me being optimistic, though, probably. ):
They'd better be joking. Because if they're not to the point on Episode 3 where they can actually show it then they can keep that effing game! You don't put out a game like Half-Life and then dick the fans around for years making promises and teases but not delivering! YOUDON'TEFFINGDOITDOYOUHEARME!!!!
My problem is not that the game is taking a long time, but that they don't say ANYTHING about it. To make me happy, all they would have to say is that a half life game is being worked on. They don't have to show any damn screenshots or videos, but just a little statement like that.
Come on valve we need you.
