    The Vancouver Canucks joined the NHL in 1970 as an expansion team.

    In their franchise history, they have never won the Stanley Cup. However they have played in the finals three times: 1982, 1994 and 2011 losing to the New York Islanders, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins respectively. The 1994 and 2011 Stanley Cup finals both ended in game seven and were also followed by wide spread rioting in Vancouver's downtown area.
