    Overview

    The Vanguard Overed Boost is a supplemental boost module used for insertion into areas where an Armored Core NEXT could not otherwise be sent due to battlefield conditions. The module can propel a NEXT well in excess of a thousand kilometers an hour by using four large rocket boosters. However, the VOB renders the user largely immobile, only able to quick-boost a few feet to the left or right, or to raise or lower height. The VOB also has a very limited power supply, making it unsuitable for prolonged use. When the power for the VOB is depleted, the unit auto-purges, returning the NEXT to normal control for the remainder of the mission.

    Due to the special nature of the device, it is not purchased by pilots, but rather offered by the client for use in very specific missions.
