Sony tried to create their MMO version of World of Warcraft, promising tons of features and hours and hours of endless entertainment. Not to burst anyone's Vanguard bubble, but this game has to be the worst failed MMO I have seen in my entire life. It took my about 30 minutes to install the game, 30 minutes to create my character, 30 to make the game playable, and 30 minutes until I logged out disgusted for the first time. I was dreaming of sailing across the huge sea in my own built ship. I was looking forward to creating a guild with my friends and defending our territory from enemy players. Apparently it was too good to be true.
When I logged in on my character, I had to toy with the settings for quite a while in order to make it so everything wasn't so glitchy and readable. When I got started, I noticed the bugs almost immediately. My character had the goofiest run I'd ever seen and for some reason I could run faster sideways and straight ahead. I would attack a creature and try to flee, and it would follow me for about 5 minutes. I would try to use my abilities and my graphics would be delayed from my actual attack.
I understand all MMOs have their bugs when they first launch, but this is ridiculous. It has been almost two years since the release of Vanguard and there are still just as many bugs as their were when I first bought the game. The bugs weren't even the worst part. Combat would last for too long, Harvesting was aggravating, Diplomacy was boring as hell, and 90 percent of the game was grinding. I would have much rather not played this game than experience the frustration and anger I did. One star may be too much, but the graphics weren't bad for an MMO.
