Ventre's will stop at nothing to obtain the Eternal Engine, as evidence when he winds up stealing the entire museum where it is being held, ground, soil, and all. Ventre possesses considerable wealth, as he is able bring an impressive array of hardware to bear against the gunners. In the final battle, his flagship Grandir (French for "to grow") is seen to be a massive juggernaut dwarfing anything else seen up until that point. It is presumed that he makes his money through theft, though it is possible that he has put in an honest day's work at some point.
Ventre's chief minions are the Poulets (French for "chicken"), small, bug-eyed minions who all possess an adorable speech impediment that makes them sound like four year old children. They are described as automated dolls, capable of independent movement and action. Ventre created them with the purpose of using them to further his criminal escapades.
Though plentiful, Poulets are no match for a skilled gunner. Therefore Ventre hires
Rival to assist with combatting
Ciel,
Copain, and
Femme.
Ventre is also somewhat sentimental, as he collects photographs of his exploits, especially his victories against the gunners.
Ventre is French for stomach, which is fitting considering Ventre's considerable bulk.
