Venus is a planet located in the Milky way galaxy and is the second closest planet to the sun. Venus orbits the sun every 225 days and is the second brightest object at night only behind the moon. Venus gets it's name from the Roman love goddess Venus. Venus is one of the hottest planets in the solar system, second behind Mercury. The heat is generated by the thick atmosphere around Venus. Probes have been sent to investigate the mysteries of the planet, but the thick atmosphere of sulfuric acids that cover the whole planet is so thick that you can't see the planet's surface.
- Recent discoveries include the mapping of the internal land of Venus, radar data has mapped that volcanic activity covers the land.
