    Also known as the Sorceress of Shadows, Veran is a powerful witch from the land of Labrynna, and the main antagonist in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.

    Description

    Veran is the main antagonist in Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. It is the only game in which she makes an appearance. One of her unique characteristics is the ability to possess the mind, in which she performs on Nayru, Impa, and Queen Ambi. Veran first takes control of Impa, Princess Zelda's caretaker, tricking Link to move a rock that only the pure may touch. After breaching the stone she appears in her real form before a group of animals listening to Nayru sing. By then possessing Nayru, a disruption in the flow of time occurs, and the possessed-Nayru/Veran jumps into a time portal to the past. After Link frees Nayru from possession, Veran eventually goes on to inhabit Queen Ambi, building the Black Tower.
