Overview
A malevolent apparition of hindu lore. Though they traditionally possess corpses, drive people insane, and generally harass people, some have been known to safeguard villages.
King Vikramaditya was once tasked with capturing a Vetala who made it's home in the trees, in the center of a cremation ground. Though this deed required complete silence, every time the Vetala was captured he would regale the king with a story ending with a question. Despite the king's best efforts, he was unable to resist answering, and each time he opened his mouth to speak the Vetala would escape and return to his home in the trees.
