Content meetings! Those are always the best. I hoped it went something like this. "Now that we have Dan and Jason in San Francisco, Patrick, we're going to need you to start doing more video content. Daily runs of a hard game for an hour each morning and horror games for three hours each night. As well as a Wendesday afternoon live show."

And then Patrick melted.

I just cant really seem to see the appeal to this game. A punishing game can be very rewarding, but 1001 just seems like it isnt that fair. Spelunky and Super Meat Boy reward skillful execution, its difficult but can be mastered. This game seems to get its kicks from pulling out the rug from under you and instantly killing until you basically memorized the level after however amount of attempts it takes. Yes its hard, but it seems more frustrating than fun.

I'd somewhat agree, but a lot of the traps are telegraphed if you know what to look for. Or at least give you enough time to react to them. But I definitely don't think it's as fun as other hard platformers like Super Meat Boy.

Would never play this but it's interesting how something seemingly insurmountable - like that gauntlet of death in 4-2 - can be overcome with patience and perseverance.

World 4 is the widowmaker. It's honestly where I stopped (for now...?)

And you know, I thought the webcam was some weird egotistical thing. But it does add to these sorts of games, especially when they're played solo.

Nothing against you, Patrick, but I think I would have prefered to see Brad play this game on Breaking Brad.

@patrickklepek Looks like the breakable blocks use a different model from the standard ones. The little orange reflections are flipped position on the ones that break or move when you touch them

I'm addicted to this game. so many hidden things that will make you cry all the way up to the exit, but it's getting to that exit just once and knowing from then on exactly what is in your way that running through it again with that perfect execution can really give you a high. If patrick streams this enough to beat it... i can't wait to see his reaction to what the game reveals to him after.

I love how he died to the spikes right next to the door in 4-3.

Great feature once again, Patrick.

It's absolutely fair. There are no random elements to the game. There's no instance where "spikes didn't come out of this block last time but they did this time and so I died." That would be unfair.

How long would this game take to complete? I guess that depends on skill but for an average player who's into these "masocore" games?

I crack up when patrick insults himself for dying. I do the same thing. In a game with as tight of controls as this, you really can't blame the game for when you mistakes!

Hey Patrick, the names of the levels can be important. The last level you played is called "The Vines Are Safe" or something to that effect.

Man, I will never understand the desire to play these terrible, sadistically difficult games, but I will damn well fight for your right to be impaled to death on spikes a thousand times if that is what you choose.
