That is what is so hilarious about this game. The massively dangerous zones are no longer that bad.

Actually, I may do Stangletorn with my undead hunter to get the pet.

Tried WoW for first time because of this.

Decided to take the jump - after years of Alliance, i've started fresh on the Horde. No heirlooms, no mains feeding me gold :) ...all i've got from my other characters is a bunch of mounts.

I find myself looking back fondly at the past, but also happy that some things back then have been put to rest. I liked the complexity of the strategies in the old dungeons, instead of the current penchant for tank and spank but i'm also happy there are systems in place to ensure you get 'something' from spending an hour in a dungeon with randoms. I miss when you spent long enough in a zone to really build memories of it. I don't miss spending entirely too long looking for people to do elite quests with.

I can identify with the people who lament the passing of 'old WoW' yet I don't think I would be willing to give up the modern conveniences provided by each new expansion.

Can't wait for the expansion, watching these makes me want to play, but there is nothing left to do on WoW right now :(

Looks like they're raising the subscription price for those in the UK when WoD is released. Lame.

Someone should make a wrestling MMO called World of World Wrestling Entertainment (WoWWE) and Dan can play it for the rest of his natural life and much of his cybernetic robo-life and all of his supernatural life...

This has been a great feature, looking forward to this part. Hope to hear more stories of your MMO adventures, Dan. Or just more features like this in general - Metal Gear here we come!

Was hoping they would do some pvp. Warsong gulch or something. OR arathi Basin.

@danryckert You can join pvp games at any time and when you leave, it will return you wo wher eyou were (at least it was that way when I played).

I think it would be a shame to not experience the pvp, it can be a lot of fun.

Also, LOL "Its like getting a card with no money in it." I hear that brother.

the stealth and pvp boat part reminded me of vinny's description of bed stuy.

Hey @danryckert I believe if you follow the quest chain with your little raptor buddy to completion you gain him as a battle pet.

My weekly fix is ended! It was a great journey thanks for doing this Dan & Co it was a great feature for the site hoping to see more of this!

Every time I watch one of these I start to feel the itch again to go back. Ughh! Must resist the urge....

Me too. What do you think so far? Having a bit of trouble getting into it myself. The battle system and waiting on cool downs is not doing it for me, yet.

To anyone else- How do you get quest markers to pop up on your map? Is that something that's unavailable during the free trial?

@danryckert You should make a Goblin! They have the best starting area. You get to ride mechs, drive a car, control cannons, fly planes, and become a tornado. I think you would like it.

@rorie has been a great addition in these features! Please include him in all of them!

You can mail your heirlooms between horde and alliance.

I guess this was the first ever in-game mailbag we've had. It didn't disappoint.

I'm the total opposite of Brad when it comes to the default UI in this game. I couldn't stand it, and it was the ability to mod it all into oblivion that kept me playing for as long as I did.

Same here. I even roped a friend into playing again as well.

@danryckert at level 38 you can use a 2 handed weapon in one hand as a fury warrior. Its as cool as it sounds

Kind of bummed out that we won't see more episodes. It's only been three weeks! I hope Dan keeps going and we see another chek-in in a month or so.

PS: The Giant Bomb community is the best. Of course someone would send him 1000 Gold.

@rinsatori: I missed the comment in the video but are you sure Rorie isn't talking about Age of Reckoning rather than Warhammer in general? Warhammer Online ripped all sorts from WoW. Although I personally thought the 'zone' based PvP was done way better in War.

My fiancee and I both resubscribed because of this series. I really hope Dan continues beyond his trial. I'm sure we could come up with $15 a month for this level of quality entertainment.

I started playing WoW again after 3 years.....fuck.

While this series definitely planted the idea of resubscribing in my head, the intro movie to Warlords of Draenor pretty much sealed the deal for me. I haven't resubscribed yet, but I preordered the Collector's Edition (I've bought every WoW CE so far) and will likely get some game time within the next month or two and finish up the Pandaria single player content.

Started playing wow for the first time. (not first mmo) but i am not skipping most quests. Even though i have out leveled a zone i finish the zone i am in just to get the story or the cool quests. This games got me, almost level 40.

They seem to call him "Rorie" just as often as "Matt," if not more. I think actually Brad might be the only one who regularly calls him "Matt."

This made me re-sub! Damn you. WoD looks great though.

I thought I'd try it for free and then it was all "hey, half off if you buy now" and shit, now I own World of Warcraft.
