It worked for me :)  Is there anyway to dial down the separation? It might improve the effect.

the best way to do glasses free 3d on any home monitor is to just show the left and right image side by side next to each other and have the viewer cross their eyes in a manner that connects the two images together.
if you did that then i anyone can see the effect, no glasses required, on any monitor after they learn how to do it.

Technically, Red/Blue Glasses aren't required. You just have to cross your eyes a la a Magic Eye picture. Crossing your eyes = "super ghetto 3D" XD

Ugh holy shit that was some extreme separation. I had so get about 4 or 5 feet away from my monitor for it to make sense. That depth slider was way too high. Also there was a lot of bleeding between the two images, even after I put my screen in the correct gamma mode (sRGB).

But after watching it a few times I was able to tune in. Still gotta get my hands on one to see for myself. I think the games made for 3D from the ground up will stand out like a sore thumb compared to these shitty ports and re-releases with their 2D skyboxes.

Not sure whether my first game should be one where you move deeper into the Z plane of the camera view (like Monkey Ball or Ridge Racer) or one on 2D a plane with parallaxing/polygons (like Street Fighter or Ghost Recon). Or 3D platformer like Rayman?

Damn. Any chance of a side by side format instead of Red / Blue? I'm sure that is asking a lot, I just already spent the $400 on a monitor and 3d vision kit.

These videos never really look right.  3D is really set up by taking into account screen size and distance.  With the 3DS' small screen being less than a couple eyewidths apart (most of the people watching this probably have their eyes only twice as far from the screen as they would a handheld, but their screen's most likely a whole lot bigger than twice the size of a ds screen, skewing the angles completely), it would be hard to get this to look "right."  The way to do it would be to get a reference monitor, set everything up to that and then play it on the monitor with the settings locked in.  Of course, just how feasible that would be with the control scheme of the 3ds...

Or maybe they could post a couple of these in a side by side format.  To view those you just cross your eyes.  The advantage there is that people with Nvidia 3d can watch it.  Or people with an Iz3d monitor (which I'm coincidentally using right now since the FL inverter on my normal monitor blew a couple days ago.)  Another advantage of cross eye viewing is that the depth isn't set.  The viewer actually has the power to change the depth of field, simply by changing the toe-in of their eyes.

And if Giantbomb really wants a nifty 3d video.  Muramasa played on the Dolphin emulator.  Absolutely sick.  You wouldn't think it (being a 2d game and all) but the game uses over a dozen layers at times, and the effect is mind blowing in 3d.

I tried to touch baby monkey with my hand and knocked the monitor off my desk, then it caught on fire and burned down my house, and I can't stop the fire.   I'm no lawyer but I think you guys owe me a new monitor and house, and possible the whole east coast.

GiantBomb , your 3D separation is way to high !! People can't jump into 3D with depth over 75% or separation above 35% right off the bat.  I know  the Separation automatically scales when adjusting the depth on the 3DS ,so your not given  as much control as compared to the PC ,which is a good thing. Kids would set there separation too high and might cause damage to there eyes.  You need to adjust the 3D setting on the 3DS to half the depth. Here are some videos I made in 3D to help show you the difference. Hopefully this information will be useful.

Heres a 3D video of  World of warcraft : 3D review   (Skip past the intro to get to the 3D)

45% depth setting and separation of 20%

Heres : Call of Duty:Black ops 3D Trailer

                                                Depth 65% and separation 35%

I hope this helps you out, Pls forgive my Voice narration ,I'm still working on it.
I'm very happy to see you guys experimenting in 3D videos. It's not the easiest thing to edit but it's very rewarding. Great job guys.

seriously guys, post side-by-side
that way anyone with any type of 3d system can enjoy it properly and in full color (or play in anaglyph mode using some 3d player)
also, color info doesnt compress well at all using modern video codecs, so its all smudgy when you separate the images
and you used the wrong blue color when making this (lots of ghosting through my blue lens, none through my red lens)

I saw lots of blue ghosting when using my red/blue glasses. Not sure if that's just me or not though.

Tested should do a segment on how to make red/blue 3D glasses and how to set up your computer to properly view 3D images video with them (Apparently you need to tweak some colour settings? No idea!).

Yeah, this turned out more like a "magic eye" thing.  Even with glasses, you have to look "through" it instead of just at it to get it to kind of work right.

Nintendo just keeps making it harder for Giant Bomb to do quick looks on their games, or anyone for that matter...just think of those AR games.

Footage of their games has become equivalent to one of those "man, you had to be there" jokes.

I got it to work using two pairs of glasses. It made it darker, but it worked.

I didn't use them like that, I had to put one over the other.
