" @TheFrostedGamer:   BF 2142 did EXACTLY what Modern Warfare did, minus the kill streaks, way before it. What's wrong with stating this fact? They seem to be important features to you. This features will make their return in Battlefield : Bad Company 2.    Frostbite is the more exciting tech. How is IWs engine better? I'd really like to hear you elaborate on this BS of yours. As far as I can see, CoD does square and corridor maps, relatively small scale, with no vehicles, no destruction, tons of invisible walls, flat backdrops and monster closets. In essence, its singleplayer campaign is the modern equivalent of the DOOM corridor shooter and its multiplayer modes are Unreal Tournament in a modern warfare skin. It is a great game, but tech- and designwise, very ordinary.  Saying Frostbite is the lesser tech is borderline insane. In any case it's ignorant. Please try to drive home your point. I'd love to see you fail. "
I must say... you do put you points across very well.
it also helps that they are true

Looks nice, Bad Company 1 was a pretty good game, I just didn't like the fact that you couldn't create your own rooms.

Looks good. Enjoyed the first part of Battlefield: BC (never finished - returned it - time restraints). This looks better, especially the debris (as long as A.I. can't find you in the smoke or dust). Modern Warfare was the first WWII game that ever looked worth its salt to me and the first I ever bought. It turned out pretty good. Must've clocked in hundreds of hours of multiplayer with that one. Made Halo obsolete for me. Looks like Battlefield: BC 2 will be my third WWII game. Who would've thunk WWII themes would be so popular with this SciFi/Fantasy junky? Then again, a SciFi or Fantasy themed first-person shooter with Modern Warfare or Battlefield's realism would be even better. Screw throwing daggers at enemies, I want to brandish a rapier for stealth kills and load, cock, and fire a flintlock pistol for range attacks; revolving, automatic crossbows; grenades of Greek fire; hell, your weapons could be magic and do the exact same thing as modern weapons, just look more interesting. Why not?

Looks good. Destructible environments, audio is awesome. I like the muted effect when an explosive goes off too close to your character.

Shit looks fuckin' crazy in a good way. Jesus christ, those graphics have improved. No more grainy, horrible textures, but instead, great looking foliage and even better destruction + effects. Sound design, as mentioned, is incredible.

YES!!!  HE DIDN'T PULL BACK THE BOLT AFTER SWITCHING A PARTIALLY FULL MAG OUT.   I just hope that he would of if he had expended the whole mag plus the one in the chamber.

IT ANNOYED ME SO MUCH IN THE FIRST ONE THAT THE RELOAD ANIMATION HAD HIM PULL BACK THE BOLT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU EXPENDED

I came.
But seriously, this looks amazing. I loved the first, and this looks even better. I too appreciate how he didn't pull the bolt with a round still chambered, that always bugged me in games (not much, but still noticable). Glad it's changed.
Can't wait for this...way to many games coming out for me (BoGT, MW2, Brutal Legend, BC2...).

" I hate to say it, but all of these games are starting to seem exactly the same. Really, you could have told me this was COD:MW2 and I'd have believed you. "

That's actually the point of trailers like this. The developers want this game to "seemingly" appear to be like Modern Warfare 2 so you will mentally-associate it. The reality is MW2 is built on a better engine, with a tighter, more focused gameplay experience. Also MW2 has far more trappings (perks/streaks/unlocks/prestige/create-a-class and now a robust Coop Mode).  But anyway, you're not wrong. "
I was thinking exactly this. The biggest distinction between the two is destructible environments and vehicles, but the perks/streaks/unlocks/prestige-thingies is really what keeps MW2 moving ahead. "
ROFL! Frostbite is a true next gen engine. It's larger scale, more interactive, bests anything in the sound department. Certainly more impressive than IWs engine. IW works with illusions. It's all smoke and mirrors. Their games are great fun, but the tech is as oldschool as it gets. It does corridors and squares, with impressive flat backdrops, that's it. Frostbite doesn't work with smoke and mirrors. It creates the real deal. Everything you see, is 3D modelled and interactive. There are no flat backdrops. There are no invisible walls. There are no monster closets. Frostbite is the future. Sadly, you don't seem to recognize that yet. Oh well - you will.  Also, the whole perks/unlocks/prestige design was in Battlefield 2142 first - IW just sold it better. Get your facts straight man. Battlefield : Bad Company was the first game made with the Frostbite engine, so DICE didn't have a lot of time for polish and meta-game design, it was all about getting the tech running - that's why the first Bad Company didn't have a deep unlock system. It is amazingly fun and balanced non the less. Battlefield : Bad Company 2 will have all that. It will have the polish, it will have a deep meta-game and unlock system. Battlefield : Bad Company was the first real next gen shooter on any platform. Battlefield : Bad Company 2 will be the first polished real next gen shooter. Battlefield 3 will be the first real next-next gen shooter. Frostbite is the fundament for progress for many years to come. DICE is a technology leader.  Why this is beyond you, baffles me. "
I agree that the frostbite engine is way more than IW's engine has potential for. But MW does have a tighter and more focused gameplay experience. Not having to wait for a transport to take you to the action is a good example.

"Everything you see, is 3D modelled and interactive."
Whoopti-frickin-doo. This is not something that makes a game great. Super Mario bros. 3 ain't great, because it doesn't look real?

"Also, the whole perks/unlocks/prestige design was in Battlefield 2142 first - IW just sold it better."
Actually, IW just made it better. I liked that system in 2142, but it took such a bigger part in CoD4's MP.

"...that's why the first Bad Company didn't have a deep unlock system."
Let's hear dem excuses. CoD4 was a great and polished game out of the box. And they built their engine for that game too. Maybe it wasn't as good an engine, but the game itself was years ahead. Tech demo, anyone?

"It is amazingly fun and balanced non the less."
Let's be subjective and not biased Mr.Desperately-looking-for-job-at-DICE-person.

Actually let's get a DICE-induced tag-line for the game.
"Frostbite is the future. Sadly, you don't seem to recognize that yet."
Good job. That line sold me the game. I'm gonna play... the future.

DICE makes great games and they don't need to sell themselves as "making games like MW2", the Battlefield name definitly has legs of its own.
And BC2 will most likely be an awesome game; you don't need to convince me. You need to shut the fuck up.

@twillfast:

Since we agree on BF:BC 2 and that it will be a geat game. What's the fucking ruckus about?

As for Modern Warfare being tighter than Battlefield : Bad Company, well, MW is an arena type shooter, similar to UT, BF:BC is a sandbox style shooter. It's a matter of preference, not a matter of thight gamedesign, which style you enjoy more.

If you said, Modern Warfare is faster paced, than Battlefield, I'd agree with you. Goldrush aka Rush mode definitly upped the pacing of Battlefields gameplay though. It's the perfect hybrid between the open sandbox experience and the focus and high pacing of an arena type shooter.

As for Modern Warfare's top-notch meta-game. It's merely the designer drug backing the gameplay. Both of which are excellent. Battlefield : Bad Company didn't have an elaborate meta-game to back its gameplay, non the less, I'm still hooked.

As for my other points, I made those to back my statement, that Frostbite is the more exciting and modern tech. Another point we agree upon. So seriously, why agree with me, when you then go on to use my argument for DICEs engine against me? I never argued, that better tech makes for better games. I just argued against Frostedgamers demented statement, that IWs engine is a better tech than DICEs Frostbite engine. A point I obviously drove home, since you agree with me.

Whatever man - you need to chill the fuck out. Negative Nancy! Pop a downer or light a spliffy or something. Seriously!

" Dear DICE:  I understand you want to be all mature and make an M-rated game this time around, but that doesn't mean you need to have the word "fuck" or "shit" in every single line of dialogue you record.  That said, I can't wait to hear Haggard cursing up a storm. "
I understand where you're coming from, but have you seen actual vids of marines fighting in Iraq (falujah mostly) and afghanistan. It literally is fuck and shit in every phrase, worse than this actually, and lots of loud cheering when someone uses an AT-4 or airstrike against a building.  "

Feels real I llove it, far more mature in feeling.
