Can't wait for the FPS^^

Posted by damswedon

wait a trailer for a patch?
this is a messed up world we live in.

Posted by Forcen

Love this trailer! The patch is coming tomorrow, it contains improved graphics and a working webbrowser!

WoW always has trailers for their new patches that are added a lot. Generally mmos have trailers for big updates like this because they are the content that some people would expect from a priced expansion..but of course that isnt the case here.

woooooooooah... why are the Russians attacking?
shit, someone attacked an airport, didn't they?

Looks good, but I know EVE isn't for me.. way to slow =/

@Erik: Especially if they can somehow incorporate the FPS into the MMO world, helping affect player-corps and politics and OMG my brain just died.
Posted by Wes899

I check out the free trial 4 or 5 times a year. If I just bought it, my character might actually be good by now.

Can't wait to head out with my corporation and try the new Sovereignty stuff out! :3

I am just gonna wait for Star Wars TOR.

SPACE RUSSIANS? NO!

Space.......    The final frontier.....    These are the voyages of the stOOHHHH MYYYYY GODDDDDD!!!!!

Posted by Metal_Mills

If only it really played that good.

Posted by NoXious

Shame they show of Titans as if they just won that battle and then proceed to nerf em so they hardly can affect a battle like that.

Posted by jmrwacko

EVE online always looks so good, but then I remember back to when I actually played it and start to cringe a little.

Posted by demonbear

EVE online is a game that I would very much like to like. But it wont let me! Even if they remade it a bunch of times, the tutorial makes no sense, the mining is way too slow and the pvp is so hardcore, its ridiculous. I like pvp, don't get me wrong, but i dont like loosing all my stuff because i took a wrong turn. That's just bad.

I resubbed after a 6 month break. Damn you expansion, and almost-finished second playthrough of Borderlands (GOTY btw).

It is going to be incorporated into the MMO world. For example, I may be a mercenary for hire along with my company in the FPS. Some dude in the MMO wants this planet taken, he hires me and my company, so in the FPS game, we then invade that world. If we're succesful in killing everyone and taking it over, we get paid in the FPS, and the dude gets his planet in the MMO. Yes, t'is awesome.

...Fuck, now I need to get back into EVE.

The voices, they're dying from the Violence!

CCP really knows how to make good trailers, the previous one with the butterfly effect was also very good. This is also the closest to actual gameplay ever. Too bad the normal game is about 5x slower. Plus any fleet would have had scouts in that other system.

Looks amazing!

Ah, I see EVE continues to be insane.

Trailers like this are all I need from EVE. I just dont have the time, money, energy or attention span to dedicate to a game like this. Also the voice acting in that trailer sounds like its being done by actual players (or really bad voice acters) and I don't want to turn into that.

if i wanted to get robbed during my leisure time, i would go to a park in a bad neighborhood. no thanks.

We knew this day would come.  I hope they haven't found a way to resurrect Space Lenin.

I just bought this game for 5 bucks on steam and now its getting upgraded.

QFT. Every MMO going just looks like more grind happy boring gameplay. I have faith in bio-ware but even so no one can hit a home run all the time, and an MMO can very easily be screwed up.

Going to planet Alameda. Looking for nuclear wessels.

if I had the time I'd definitely get into this, all these trailers and such look so bad ass

It's a bummer that the actual game is nothing like these company made trailers. If it was, I'd probably still be playing it, but I got tired of spending one hour in stations, or in warp for every 10 minutes of actual fighting, and playing that I got to do.

Yeah, EVE is weird. I love the game on screenshots and videos, but seeing how people actually play this (including the ridiculous scams), it all falls apart. Thanks, but no thanks.

No, they most decidedly have not got rid of the spreadsheets.

Posted by PapaLazarou

Good trailers... shame about the boring gameplay.

Needs to have WASD controls instead of the point and click shit.

Posted by Griddler

None of that made any sense to me.

Posted by VisariLoyalist

The thing the people who criticize this game don't understand is it's basically an economic sim in an online format. Prices on items change based on the actions of major corporations and intriguing conflicts for high value territory and resources. It's a power game so of course you have to start out mining or going on quests, you can't just start out running the universe but it's all based on the eventual goal of becoming powerful and to stake a claim to your part of the universe

@damswedon: It's not just a patch. This is one of the regular six to eight month expansions.

Oh man do i miss playing EVE...

Posted by lucifon

The trailers make the game look so exciting but when you actually get into it, its a complete overload of menus. I felt like I was playing menus with a graphical representation almost. I can still kinda see the appeal though to people looking for something like that, but I just didn't find it 'fun' in the slightest.

@ThatFrood: No Russian.
Posted by Death_Burnout

Ok Fuck it, reactivating my EVE account soon as possible.

Posted by InTheEnd

I can imagine why these guys have to make really good trailers since they have to cover up the second job that is EVE Online.

Posted by Cadmus

Trailer looks cool but I imagine this game is like every other text-based online power game like Utopia where you have to use IRC and wake up at abnormal hours during the middle of the night to co-ordinate attacks with your team ...meh.

Posted by Hashbrowns

I know this is an MMO, but watching this trailer just made me realize that I still desperately want a Freespace 3.

@damswedon: Every MMO has trailers for their patches.  :|

I found my two week trial with EVE a very mixed experience. On the one hand I loved the unique feel, the complexity of the game and the fact that whether online or offline your character was constantly training their skills. However (and maybe this is just me) I also found that all the traveling and mining was very monotonous and that social interaction with other players was not something that came naturally. Perhaps if I spent more time with the game I'd be able to get more out of it but the subscription fees are very high for a game I'm not sure I'll like and I feel like however acclimatised I become to the world of EVE the repetitive tasks will always be repetitive tasks. Still, I can see why people love it.
