Ugh. I hate how people are judging this because of how FFXI was. FFXI came out 7 FREAKIN' YEARS AGO, back when ALL MMOs were a huge grindfest and broadband internet was just coming out.
 
Of course SE has learned absolutely nothing from FFXI or recent MMOs. Of course FFXIV is going to be EXACTLY THE SAME as FFXI but with better graphics. Do you people honestly believe that???

Can't wait to see more actual gameplay.  I hope its not as slow paced as FFXI was but not as fast as AION or WoW is.  Any boy I am so glad Nobuo Uematsu is doing all the music!

It looks quite good but I think I'll pass on this one. Not a big MMO kinda guy...it takes commitment.

Meh, I dunno, there would really have to be something special about this game for me to care about it. FFXI was awful.

Pretty, and I'll give it some consideration as a console MMO, but I have no interest in it as a PC MMO.  On that platform I am done with fantasy MMOs for a good long while.  But, if it plays well enough on the console and it doesn't require the serious attention that a PC MMO does, I might give it a chance.  However, if it is anything like FFXI, I'll probably wind up playing Free Realms instead.

Can't wait!  FFXI had a big impact on my gaming, been waiting for the follow up for the past 5 years.

this game is looking good, though i'm hoping it will make improvement upon the problems of ff11. namely, the subscription cost exceeding the cost of world of warcraft. you would imagine they'd consider either making it at an equal price point or cheaper if they are wishing to capture an audience share. to put it simply, im a die hard ff fan, yet i went without ff11 in favour of wow because it was cheaper to continue with.

Philosophical question: if something is exclusive  for two plaftorms, is it still exclusive?

looks pretty damn gay, didnt show me anything that would make me think the online would be an amazing experience.  with it coming 2010, they should show more.

Played FFXI for over 3 years.... I am definitely wanting this!  Looks fucking great!  Hope I can use my same toon!  Finally a next gen MMORPG!  Been waiting for years.

i loved the gameplay in this trailer, just like the trailers of all of the other FF games,SO INTENSE!

MMOs always cut great trailers. I always feel kinda disappointed with the end product. Maybe this one will change my mind.
