Still looking great.

Reminds me of Sled Storm on the PS1!

Posted by jerseyscum

Bring back Thumper and maybe I'll get it.

Edited by Cyrisaurus

God I can't wait.

Jaffe and crew really are making all the right choices with this game. Live action cutscenes, full blown multiplayer, a legit campaign with a story integrated with all the characters, amazing boss fights, and that mix of Twisted Metal 2 and Black.

It will definitely be the best Twisted Metal ever.

Also, fuck yeah Dragula by Rob Zombie.

Edited by AjayRaz

DRAGULAAAAAAAA

edit: this looks wonderful.

Posted by FunExplosions

Hahahah hell yes I want Dragula in this game. Gonna be amazing.

Posted by rargy

Okay, i'm interested in Twisted Metal again.

Posted by MariachiMacabre

This game is looking like crazy, stupid fucking fun. Can't wait.

Posted by Ezekeilpurger

Oh hey, forgot this was a video game.

Posted by TeflonBilly

My friends and I played Twisted Metal 2: World Tour split screen to death and I really did enjoy the whole grimdark Se7en wannabe style of Black. If they manage to mix those two games together properly than this is gonna be great

Posted by RazloTPD

Dear God I can't wait for this game. I'm anticipating this more than I did much of the late 2011 releases.

Also, Brothers Grimm... That is incredible. GIANT Monster Trucks. Boss Fight or special vehicle like the 18-wheeler 'Juggernaut'? Can't waaait :D

here's oping we get a similar video to this and the dollface one for Sweet Tooth and Preacher.

Have I mentioned I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!

Posted by Crunchman

Oh, Twisted Metal, you're still awesome. Pretty great trailer. I think this is a game I'd like to have a Vita for, not too many games I can say that about. Maybe P4: The Golden.

Posted by csl316

Awesome.

Posted by Make_Me_Mad

I was on board as soon as Dragula kicked in. Man I missed Twisted Metal.

Looks balls-out crazy.

And that was a petty good song choice, I have to say.

Edited by Porkellain

Mmm, might dust off my PS3 for this.

Edit: Wait, pre-order Axel? kthxbai

Posted by Silver-Streak

Please, please, PLEASE let there be a TNT of this. It looks crazy.

Posted by D_W

I'm not sure how I feel about a rasta Mr. Grimm, but the game play looks pretty damned awesome. I thought they said there wasn't going to be any destructible environments, but I guess that has changed. One of the best things about that suburban stage in Black was that you could get the farris wheel rolling around causing havoc. I'm real glad to see that's in this game too!

I wish I had a reason to dust off my 360. Maybe next Halo?

Posted by Porkellain

@Globox82: I dunno, you guys have Gears of War, always loved it :)

It's just a code to unlock him early. He's available to everyone in every copy of the game.

Posted by billyhoush

Oh Jaffe, you beautiful beautiful bastard.

Preordering tomorrow.

So is him unlockable without pre-order or dlc? I might change my mind, in case

Posted by DiGiTaL_SiN

Was gonna say Rob Zombie is so 1999, but then again Twisted Metal is so 1999.

Looks cool though, I hope they nail the online multiplayer because sadly, no one plays splitscreen anymore.

Posted by Gabriel

Lol Dragula.

Posted by Tennmuerti

I did not care about the new Twisted Metal before.

But those monster trucks convinced moi otherwise.

Posted by Solskugga

Major 90s nostalgy. that song...damn that was a long time ago^^

Posted by Humanity

Kinda wish Mr. Grimm had an actual skull head like in previous version but doesn't matter since I always played Spectre - hope she's still cool in Black she was fucked up, in a good way.

Transforming giant monster trucks? best boss fight EVER

Posted by Mooshu

They get points for effective Rob Zombie usage.

Posted by SamuSlave

I heard that Jaffe makes love to Rob Zombies "Dragula".

Posted by SSully

Easily my most anticipated game of next year. I can't wait.

Posted by Renegade_Pixels

FUCK! YES!

Posted by dudeglove

It's amazingly pathetic that their only way of selling this is by appealing to the nostalgia of those who somehow enjoyed the games in the ps1 era by tagging on a song that came out before the first Matrix movie (which was, what, 12 years ago?).

@Make_Me_Mad said:

Point proven. Either that or Rob Zombie is going cheap nowadays.

It's amazingly pathetic that you think one song in one trailer represents their entire advertising campaign.

There is a ton of content that this game offers, and most of it is new. The biggest push they have been making is online multiplayer. What is nostalgic about that?

Also, what's wrong with nostalgia anyway? Sorry that I enjoy being reminded of games I loved 12 years ago.

It's not just this trailer that stinks, their whole campaign has been revoltingly nauseating since day one.

In this reveal from last year, the two actors are literally reminiscing about the so-called glory days of car combat games. Well woop-de-doo! I wonder why they don't exist anymore!? And this isn't the first time a Twisted Metal game will be online, they've done it twice before.

As for your question, the problem with nostalgia is that it's just plain lazy. It's just another case of publishers looking through their back catalog to see what IPs they can suck dry. They're doing it to X-Com, Syndicate is being fucked in the ass, Twisted Metal is just the next in line - with the exception that they haven't even bothered to "reboot" the franchise and are instead banking on the infantile gameplay of the 90s that we have all long since grown out of.

There's a reason these games aren't popular any more, and Twisted Metal won't somehow bring it back to life again. I'd laugh at the fact that they're trying to compete with COD, BF3 or even Halo, but I'll (probably) feel sorry for the dev team instead once the reviews come rolling in. But never mind that, they've still got pre-order bonuses!

I just don't understand people like you. Focus on anything and everything negative that you can, and then develop assumptions based on all that negativity.

It's like... you want yourself to not like the game, for no reason. Why hate on something before it's even out, when you can't even play the game to back up your opinion.

It's not that these games aren't popular, it's just that Twisted Metal was the king of car combat, and Jaffe, Scott Campbell, and the other original team members haven't worked on a TM game in a long time.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time arguing with you, when you seriously tried to accuse this game of competing with CoD and Halo, then assumed this game was going to get bad reviews, and tried to make a stab because it has pre-order bonuses. It's obvious your opinion has already scarred over and can't be healed. You've convinced yourself to believe in everything you've stated as if it were fact, and won't allow anyone to prove you wrong.

I'm sorry. I love games, I always have. If a dev wants to make another game in a franchise that means a lot to me, I say bring it on.
