Oh boy...

Instead of The Man With The Golden Gun they should have picked For Your Eyes Only, one of the best Moore films.

@Tredik: My bad. Sometimes I forget who licenses what. And EA and Activision use the same file delivery system.

@lordofultima: That movie is a bizarre mess. Easily one of the worst Roger Moore movies.

License to Kill is the predictable choice for Dalton because The Living Daylights, despite being much better, had very little action. Unless they wanted to add some QTE cello riding sequence in between the real missions. And as for Die Another Day, what did you expect? They only had four movies to choose from and obviously it couldn't be GoldenEye. The last two missions will be Skyfall and a Connery one, which will *fingers crossed* be Goldfinger or Diamonds are Forever. Actually, anything other than You Only Live Twice would be fine.

Man With The Golden Gun and Moonraker are okay, but the rest aren't so hot. On Her Majesty's Secret Service? Really? Gross. How can they pick the worst bond film and call it a legend? Also seems like they are really milking that Golden Eye engine for all it is worth. Pass.

I dunno, it has a great villain (played by Christoper Lee no less!), exotic locales, great stunts, one of the craziest henchmen ever in a Bond movie, and a loudmouthed American tourist getting his ass kicked by a tapir. It's definitely one of the least serious Bond movies, but I can't help but love it.

Besides, it could be worse. They could use Tomorrow Never Dies...

@sixpin: They're picking one movie per Bond.. and MWTGG was just Alex's suggestion, they already picked a Roger Moore movie (Moonraker). The last two will be Skyfall and a Connery movie.

Man With The Golden Gun is a shit film, but the idea of dueling with Christopher Lee carrying a gold fucking gun is pretty sweet.

Other than FPS games being the best selling genre ever, I wonder why they don't put Bond in third person more often. Bond is supposed to be cool, let us see him being cool. I actually didn't think Bloodstone was too shit, wasn't anything to write home about but it was more fun than any of the FPS Bonds since Goldeneye.

@kyarourin: Yeah I get that, but those are not great choices is all I was saying. I mean George Lazenby was only in the one film, most likely due to it being terrible. And I doubt Skyfall will be one. It is called Legends, which implies that only old films will be chosen.

@sixpin: Activision confirmed Skyfall would be the last mission back when the game was announced. They just haven't had an official release trailer for it. Plus, they already used Craig's other two movies in the Quantum of Solace video game.

At first I was intensely disappointed at the choice of Die Another Day as the Brosnan movie represented here, but after watching the trailer a couple more times, I can understand the decision. It's funny how some of the worst Bond movies like Moonraker(although it's a guilty pleasure of mine) and Die Another Day are also the most game friendly.

Now the only thing left to reveal is the Connery movie. I think Goldfinger is the only possibility that makes sense. The trailers wouldn't be saving Connery until last unless they wanted to go out with a bang, right?

I actually totally think this looks awesome. I greatly enjoyed Goldeneye: Reloaded, so I'm all about this. Plus, the whole "blend several of the movies but now with Daniel Craig" thing is crazy enough that I want to see it play out.

I hope the next site redesign does something about all the fucking trailers in the "Latest stories" section on the front page. Paying $50 a year to not see ads and then having the stuff I care about get buried in fucking ads is not a great experience.

This gets extra points because I thought License to kill had the best climatic action battle ever.   Bonus if Robert Davi revises his role as Sanchez.

A License to Kill was an okay Bond film. The World is Not Enough was a really good one. Die Another Day stinks, as does The Man with the Golden Gun. Activision has to use From Russia With Love, right? It's probably the best Bond film (besides maybe Goldfinger...maybe) and the Connery film that would fit best in a video game.

@Tsuchikage: I don't know how well FRWL would fit the high-action FPS type game that Legends is. There's only one real gun fight (at the gypsy camp), and it's not enough to carry a whole mission. I think they'd be looking for something more like Thunderball's underwater scuba fight, Diamonds are Forever's huge fight on the oil rig or, begrudgingly, You Only Live Twice's ninja volcano fight. It'll be interesting to see though, because I wouldn't have called Moonraker the most FPS-accommodating Moore movie and they seem to be making it work. I would absolutely kill for Connery's to be Goldfinger, but Bond barely even picks up a gun in that movie.

I have a soft spot for TWINE. The bond girl is pretty awful and Renard is stupid, but it's got some pretty cool action scenes and neat moments. I mean, it's no Goldeneye but it's way easier to watch than Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day.

Oh yeah and despite these movies being kinda on the wrong side of the spectrum (except that License to Kill is legitimately bad ass), I'm looking forward to this game because Goldeneye Wii was pretty awesome.

The heck are you talking about? Lazenby was a excellent Bond, he starred in one of the best movies overall : On Her Majesties Secret Service and actually gave Bond character growth. Poor Moore had the misfortune of being Bond during the 70s. . . no actor alive could have made Moonraker or the Man With The Golden Gun not suck balls.

Lazenby was indeed an excellent Bond and closer to the Fleming character than Connery, Moore, and Brosnan were. I still like Moore a lot (growing up in the 80s he was "James Bond" to me before Connery), but starred in some bad Bond movies. God, Moonraker and A View to a Kill makes me throw up in my mouth.
