have you ever worn a baseball cap . . . when you're not on the way to pitch nine innings at a baseball game? have you ever worn sunglasses? i mean, will your eyes MELT if you don't wear sunglasses? have you ever worn jeans on a warm day? have you ever worn shorts on a warm day? when you're at home and the door is locked and the curtains are closed, do you take all of your clothes off immediately, because no one is looking at you?

what i am saying is, have you ever worn clothes indoors, in an air-conditioned or heated room?

what i am trying to tell you is: fashion is everywhere. it's not just in the people you don't like the look of. humans are weird, yo. humans are born "hipsters". so just be cool!

this reminds me of the dyad trailer, also the dude on it kinda sorta looks like the same dude with different hair?

either way I love this style of trailer.

edit: oh nvm, action button entertainment, it is the same dude.

@humanity: @brandino: hello! i designed this game and that is (a fictionalized version of(???)) me in that video.

aha! you see, you are in fact moving colored blocks -- as in bejeweled, you can swap two blocks as long as swapping them puts either block into a group of three or more.

HOWEVER, the blocks don't clear themselves! you have to draw a path over the blocks to clear them.

you can use star tiles to link together two groups of different-colored blocks. or three groups, or four, or five, or six . . . if you have enough stars.

once you have "built the road", you have to "drive the car" -- draw a path through the blocks that gets as many blocks as possible and doesn't double back over itself. so it goes from bejeweled to tetris to . . . a maze-game sort of thing?

in short, if bejeweled is like holding up a liquor store, ten by eight is like stealing the mona lisa, getting through customs with it at the airport, and then selling it to someone who isn't going to kill you before they give you the money (if you're good at the game, that hypothetical person also wouldn't kill you AFTER they give you the money).

in summary:

:~~~3

In three words or less, tell me why I should by this game for my mother.

Hell yes shower beer. This occurred all the time in college. Wonder why I haven't done it in a while - perhaps now that I don't live in a slum, I feel too civilized for it. I should change this.

Looking forward to this, I hope it's super crunchy.

Fun to see Tim Rogers featured on Giant Bomb, it's like Marvel vs. Capcom. Come to think of it, Tim Rogers on Giant Bomb as a regular contributor would be pretty awesome. I really enjoy trying to deconstruct his deconstructions of game design, always entertaining and thought-provoking.

You can never have too much protein.

Unless you get kidney failure. Then you probably had too much protein.

Pfft. All real bodybuilders know that If you get kidney failure from having too much protein then you simply have to use your inhuman strength to tear out someone else's kidneys and smash them into your body.

So that's what was happening in Revengeance.

Games like this are why I did a roundabout install of PSM on my rooted Android phone. It's a nice option if you know your way around Android and don't have a Vita or a certified device.

Funny trailer but it looks like Bejeweled

Looks absolutely nothing like Bejeweled.

I always find it amusing when any kind of block like puzzle game comes up people who don't play puzzle games just assume it looks like Bejeweled. It's like looking at Halo and saying it looks like Rise of the Triad.

Well the video doesn't do THE BEST job of explaining the game. But from what I see, you are matching likewise blocks to make them disappear, except you can chain long combos of different colored blocks. Now correct me if I'm wrong, I am obviously a puzzle game simpleton that only plays a bejeweled clone on his phone from time to time in the bathroom, but matching colored blocks to make them disappear seems pretty similar to Bejeweled.

Hil-arious! :) That has to be one of the best promotional videos for a game I've seen. I'll look up reviews for the game real quick, and as long as they are decent, I think I have to buy this game...even if its just because of the video.
