I hope you can play the whole game in stealth. I have no interest in another third person shooter.

Great! I really need to learn how to be a cop without actually being a cop...Not for any specific reason...I just do.

Okay? Mind your own business.

Man, I hate the sound of English with Danish accent. Is this hypocritical when I am Danish myself?

I absolutely adored Blood Money, but from the looks of this it seems too concentrated on linear paths where you can find your slightly varied way through, instead of what I found to be fun sandbox-esque levels where you could walk around and do nearly anything. I hope these sections don't represent the whole game.

Some very reassuring commentary. I think they really did pay attention to fan requests in the official forums.

They could really benefit from showing a later level in the game, so that people can see if the linearity of the missions remains the same. It's perfectly fine, in my opinion, for that level to be as straightforward as it seems, since it's supposedly right at the start of the game. I'm just worried the structure of the missions in general might stick a little too much to this formula. They could even do a video in the same style as the Deus EX:HR dev commentary and have them showing several different ways to take care of the same situation.

Holy sh*t - wasn't expecting them to be able to render that many people at the end. Wow. They weren't kidding when they said they upgraded the crowd tech.

@Mustachio:I don't think we should be too worried, they talked alot about dynamic AI so if they worked that hard on it I'd think they use it for a bigger purpose.Plus Blood Money's first level was heavily linear too as it was just a tutorial most likely same thing here.

Ugh,they need to bring back Jesper Kyd,all of the music in this demonstration just sounds so generic,it's got no soul to it.They also need to bring back David Bateson as the voice of 47.

Holy shit, this looks amazing!? I was not expecting that at all. Never been a fan of the series' gameplay but so far it looks great and it's at least something I'd enjoy watching people play.

Looks fine. I can't say it look revolutionary in any way since everything in the video has been done before. Since the Hitman franchise started stealth games have used all the tricks in the book now.

I think it looks like a pretty good game so far, but it seems like a departure from Hitman much in the way that Conviction was a departure from Splinter Cell.

The TPS, snap to cover and lighting all remind me of Conviction as well.

As a long time Hitman fan I couldn't be more excited. Looks like they literally addressed every gripe I had with the game in the past. Lets SA some of these levels.

For some reason I feel like I've seen this video a long time ago. Maybe is was a shorter one of this level. Oh well, the game looks awesome.

Hearing the developers talk they really know what makes the Hitman series of games awesome, I have a really positive feeling for this.

Also 47 now has Assassin vision.

I hope the whole "become a cop" mechanic doesn't become overly necessary. This is 2/2 videos I've seen so far where they're like "CHECK IT OUT MAN, YOU CAN PUT ON A UNIFORM! WHOOAAAA"

That's where games are at these days man. Linear and scripted events in the name of graphical fidelity and story are what the masses apparently demand.

You have, they've showed this area before, just not in full (maybe incorrect) and without dev. commentary.

Cool video, but I wish they had given us a small glimpse of how the game works when you're free of what I assume is the tutorial. I understand having this grand intro with cops crawling all over and a massive shootout on the verge of breaking out, it's nothing new for a Hitman game, I just want to be assured that the whole game isn't like this.

Right? I was thinking the same thing... same color scheme and similar settings. It looks like the Unreal engine too... even though I know it's not.

I wonder what sku build this was....

I worry about the linearity too. But on that same token, I have faith that the game won't completely be linear. I remember there being a similar section at the start of Hitman: Contracts where you're escaping an insane asylum that's being raided by the police. That section was fairly linear too.

From the sounds of what the developers are saying that the library sequence in Absolution seems structured in a much similar way. But they also seem to ramp up the big action moments in Hitman with that scene with the Helicopter raining bullets down on top of you. But as soon as you're out of that pigeon coop you seem to have a million options open up to you again. Which is awesome. They were saying that you can go into the hippie apartment not dressed as a cop.

I'm excited. I'll probably play it. If they confirm that the old Hitman structure of being told "these are the people that need killing," being dropped into an environment that you have to case, figure out the best path to the target and how to best dispose of them as you want, I will be first in line to buy this at my local game store.

I've always felt like Hitman is, ironically enough, one of the only video game series to actually place any value on human life. I'm glad to hear that vindicated in this video. The developers' talk of NPC characterization and the dichotomy of the emotionless, professional protagonist with the invested, compulsive player is something I wish other games would even begin to consider.

Play on Professional then. I feel where you are coming from, "That is just detective vision!" but for people who always complain about the trial and error of stealth games, this will help. As the developers explained, it's not unlimited (maybe it is on the easiest difficulty) the gauge you use for it can be used for other things as well.

Looks like they are making a lot of smart choices, I trust them fully.

Yeah, agreed it looks less "open" than the old games. Even if it's not like the old games, it seems like it would still be a fun experience however.

Love the Hitman series. Blood Money was good...but there was something about it that just didn't feel as polished as Contracts. Still looking forward to this one!

I think the path is narrowed because it's the intro level

you know like that abusemen park in Blood Money?

Yeah, very possible.
