Still not decided if this will be like the old hitman games, but i LIKE what i'm seeing so far, even if it's more shoot-y.

That original assassin bit at the end was cheap and kinda dumb. But the trailer itself looked cool and I've always loved the Hitman games despite their flaws. Hell, I still remember the original Hitman being one of the first pirated games I ever got from a classmate when I was 14.

I played the demo for Hitman 2. I remember liking the feel of the gameplay and weapons. It felt crisp. I own Blood Money and enjoyed that one, too. So, I'm looking forward to a new one with fresh gaming tech.

Everyone saying they're not sure if this is like the old games or too much action should go watch that 15 minute demo playthrough on the library level. It's definitely just like the old games and better than ever from what I saw - this is just a trailer to get people who have no idea what the game even is to go out and buy it because theres akimbo deagles and shit.

Personally, I hope less trial and error this time. I'd like them (or some one) to find a way to make all the possibilities in a level feel empowering, like there is always a plan-b if you fuck up. I know fans love replaying levels to find all the different paths to completion, but I don't enjoy deconstructive gameplay.

I'm going to bet that the girl is the only other person besides 47 left with his DNA, and he has to rescue her from experimentation.

I approve of this trailer, and the previous gameplay videos which are apparently made using the awesome deus ex: human revolution styling.

I just want more Hitman levels with updated graphics, not some melodramatic bullet ballet. Hopefully the next trailer is of Agent 47 in a stolen bell hop uniform or mechanic's jumpsuit or clown costume strangling a Wall Street mogul or spambot coder or bum fight bookie in a hedge maze or ball pit or secret room with a bookshelf entrance.

This! I really like the idea of these games in theory but every time I try to get into them the trial and error nature of the game puts me off. That's one of the reasons I enjoy the MGS games, as it enforces stealth but doesnt require it, and there's always a way to get out of a bad situation. That being said I hope it still retains what made it unique, the planning, multiple solutions, disguises etc.

Fuckin lovethe Hitman games! Blood Money was good, but I didn't like the change in feel and graphical style. I felt like Contracts had THE perfect control for a game such as this. Blood Money annoyed me in a few ways with it's NPC's who ALL looked the same, just with different hair, clothes. Go back to the Mardi Gras level and you'll see EVERY woman is the same model. Still a fun game, but Contracts and 2 are my favorites of the series! Hope this is similar to those two!

This makes me want to go back and play Blood Money again which I never got to finish.

Trailer looks amazing.

However, I've heard that neither David Bateson (voice of Agent 47) nor Jesper Kyd (series composer) are in the new Absolution game. This is troubling on so many levels.

The only thing I can think of is that sometime after Blood Money, 47 and Diana got together and that's their daughter. Of course for that to work, they would've had to change 47 as a character a bit. Seeing he never appeared to have any interest in that sort of thing.

The bar-code wound could have come from 47 wanting to remove anything that could link to his origin, so he could try to have a normal life. The only thing is, why would she be in an orphanage? Unless that is Diana that was killed and 47 sent her to an orphanage to protect her. Of course that is a bit of a leap.

If any of this inane rambling is correct, I don't how to feel about Absolution. On one hand it could lead to an interesting story or they could bugger it up and make it a generic revenge plot. Ah well, we'll see.

Call me knee-jerk reactionary PC twat all you want; women in a submissive/weak position being killed/assaulted/kidnapped in trailers for no initially apparent reason is disturbing and has the stereotypical hallmarks of rape written all over it. I'd love to know the justification behind it.

So when a woman is killed/assaulted/kidnapped it's sexual, but not men? How many trailers have you seen with violence directed at men? Did you once get a "rape" vibe out of that?

The whole idea of Hitman is killing people in a weakened or exposed position, and most of those are male. There are hits in previous games where you kill men in showers and pools, in somewhat advanced states of undress.

There is of course a general problem of portraying women as weak in video games, but you need to pick your battles. I really don't see your point here.
