Alan Wake Is The Writer

If Remedy doesn't continue with Alan Wake, I will cut them.

The Writer was some great DLC. Literally the only reason that truly warrants me having an XBOX.

But what if the destination is moved?

I can't wait. I love Alan Wake.

I think the problem for me is just that it sounds like they're trying too hard to sound literary and cultured, when no one really sounds like that.

Oh no... More point-your-flashlight-on-the-words-gameplay, that's probably the most uninteresting mechanic in this game... Anyway... Looks good. I'm a sucker for Alan Wake so I'll probably end up buying this on release day. Let's just hope its easier than "The Signal DLC", some parts of it was crazy hard!

Well I certainly didn't hate The Signal as much as most people seem to. Having said that though, if it's just more combat and even more flashlight-ing things into exsistance through yet another nightmare sequence, then I'm just playing The Signal again but paying for it this time.

It was interesting....but not essential.

Super pumped for this, I am a bit surprised that people are so annoyed by the Verizon and energizer batteries. 

Hmmm I still need to play the signal but then again i still have Borderlands DLC I haven't played yet so I will definitely buy this and want to play it...

Was it really that hard to understand? I understand most of it, there are some untied plot lines for sure and the thermos are just collectibles. Sounds like you're looking too much into the game. "

I'm just going to wait for the Collective Edition or whatever they call it. If it becomes episodic, well, I'll cross that bridge when it comes to it.

Well it looks like they put serious effort into it. Given that an Alan Wake sequel is inevitable, the odds that this will "wrap up" the story seem slim to me. As in, I'm dead certain that this DLC won't wrap anything up at all, because if it did, what would be left for Alan Wake "season 2"?  

Ok, I was just about to snidely remark on how I've just about had enough Alan Wake already, and how this DLC couldn't possibly pique my interest yet again, but then it happened.  560 Microsoft points.  Guaranteed day-one purchase for me.  You got me, Remedy.  Admirable move. 

If there's a GotY edition I'll play it.

My fav game of 2010 so far, and I loved The Signal.  Thought this wasn't coming until December.  Psyched!

Meh, nothing's going to be resolved ever. Not even in a sequel. Or several sequels. That's kinda the point of it, like Lost or Alias or X-Files. It's all a bunch of nonsense, as The Signal seemed to confirm. Now, if you like that sort of thing (mysteries that make no sense and can never be resolved)--then go ahead and buy it. But I found Alan Wake to be a narrative catastrophe, even if the gameplay was kinda-sorta decent.

Okay, play the most recent Inception trailer (2:24) at the 0:48 mark at the same time you start this video. The syncing at the end is insane!

I just hope that it is less combat focused than the last episode because the combat in the game was certainly not its strong point.

Nothing will be resolved because the story is so stupid. I was waaaaaay into it until the last episode. After the last episode I said to myself "Man, fuck this game".

I hope this one actually provides a good ending to the game.
