I really, really hope Rob Dougan wrote this music, because it sounds like a low-fi copy of Clubbed to Death.

My experience with Obsidian has been with KOTOR 2...  I really hope that was a publisher problem that let this RPG out of the gate way too early, and not their problem.  I've heard Neverwinter Nights also had some crazy-irritating ending, so I guess that's in line, too.

They have potential, they like to reach far, I just hope they've all learned from their mistakes.  I see this game and I want it to work, but...  argh, I feel blog coming on.

I want I can't I need to express how awesome Worm's comment was, but I also have to say how I'm pretty stoked for this game. That was a quality trailer. Nothing seemed cheesy or over the top. Alpha Protocol may fill the void that has been left by the absence of Splinter Cell. The last Splinter Cell was good, but not a 'Splinter Cell' game. And, of course, Alpha Protocol seems to have a lot more goin' on. I'm pretty stoked. Definitely going to keep an eye on this one. Mad props to those guys. I know some of them know the Giantbomb crew. Giantbomb needs to get some more inside scoops on this game.

Before i was only slightly interested in this game but now i'm totally psyched.  From the trailer it looks like they're going for an authentic cinematic experience somewhat like Mass Effect but heavy on the stealth gameplay.

KOTOR 1 wasn't Obsidian, it was BioWare.

I like I purchase I finish game I say "damn this not be replayable" I wait for sequel.

Looks interesting, but I'm going to be skeptical about this one. The trailer was sort of lame (multiple Matrix references, sub-par voice acting, mediocre game segments). Not that trailers dictate whether a game is good or bad, it's just, well, good games typically have good trailers.

PenquinDust: The shooting is skill-based, not dice-rolling, according to the devs. Leveling up unlocks some special moves and increases weapon damage.

The song used is basicly a bad rip-off.

Looks good... I'm definitely keep my eye out for this one.

So, it's an RPG?  Does that mean stats and leveling up? It looks like a real time RPG, but I find the combat in such games questionable since you can seem to hit your target but miss due to a "dice roll".  I don't have a problem with the setting, I'm just wary of the game mechanics.

Oh and those who think it's "too cheesy," go back and play Fallout 1 or 2 or Baldur's Gate 1 or 2...or KOTOR 1 or 2, Obsidian/Black Isle has ALWAYS straddled that line between awesomely epic and incredibly cheesy and they have ALWAYS managed to fall on the right side of it.

Music reminded me slightly of Goldeneye 64. But, that's where comparisons end, I'd say.

Man, the game sounds awesome but... with this trailer I'm changing from "Wayyyyyyyyy excited" to "Very cautious optimism". Hopefully I'll be wrong and the game turns out to be hella spies but I won't hold my breath

Obsidian has an excellent stable of writers. That's the only reason I want this game.

I am skeptical about this one. Unless they make it really over the top, just like James Bond or Metal Gear, it is going to look like some Splinter Cell clone with a slightly different gameplay.

These guys make great games with really interesting stories. If the shooting and stealth mechanics are solid to boot, this might be a dark-horse GOTY. (oh, and Obsidian, please polish those graphics a bit!)

This game seems to be flying in under the radar.

I don't like the animations.
Correction, I HATE the animations. I dunno, a lot of the parts of this game (like aiming doing that weird scope view) look meh to me. Same with the story and stuff, and the whole, trying to be a cool and spyish. Could be fun, but the presentation doesn't really impress me v.v Which is sad, because the concept interests me a lot.

Playing a role == RPG?  I don't know.
Music == uninspired Clubbed to Death remix, Rob Dougan would probably find it amusing whether or not he actually scored it himself.

I'm looking forward to finding out the dialogue responses to "... kill me? That not get your missile back".

Now that Mass Effect 2 has moved to 2010 this has become my most anticipated for 2009. Hopefully Obsidian can deliver or I will cry. Like a little girl.

It's interesting but an RPG? really? I just picture splinter cell where you snap a dudes neck and then all of a suddan you have in big text LVL UP!

That and getting up to a boss and being like"man I can't beat him cause I'm not high enough level, I need to go snap some more dudes faces off to get good"

This game looks better in the trailer than it sounds in internet blurbs. The trailer made it jump up a few notches on my "games to watch" list.

Agreed Hannibal. I really want this to be great but in the end it could turn out to be Haze for all I know.

I've got some high hopes for this game. Can't wait for it to finally come out.
