We may be reaching a point of too many space games, assuming that point is even possible.

This looks pretty nice but it just makes me wish there was a Homeworld 3 that much more - simple graphics and shiny trails behind my fighters is all I want. Man I really liked Homeworld 2 and it had a pretty great story too.

Except a hypothetical Homeworld 3 would be made by Gearbox, about which I have some big doubts. We'll see how they do by the HD updates of the old games first.

"...gaming's ongoing love with zero gravity"

See now I disagree with that. I disagree because I have desperately wanted a video game to pull off the sort of acrobatics described in Ender's Game ever since I read the book back in the 90's. Nobody has pulled it off yet. Not even close. The only high profile dev to even try was the Dead Space people*, and their zero-g was zero-g-ish in a very limited capacity but they didn't really get in depth with the physics and momentum of how actual movement works in those conditions.

* i know some smaller devs have made some headway on this. I'm talking mostly about big mass market developers making games that have hit a large audience.

No it's not possible to have too many space games.

That point doesn't exist. Space is awesome and allows for practically infinite possibilities. Whether or not games take advantage of such possibilities is a whole different issue.

I was about to write this ^

Waiting on some more gameplay from this before I decide if it's something to spend my time on.

There is not such a thing...

OT: This looks interesting, but the UI is rather overwhelming... I hope they release a demo.

Space is vast enough that it can never be oversaturated.

The biggest question whether this game would actually be able to implement 3d rts mechanics in any usefull, yet easy to understand way. Have anyone played that thing?
