Arkham Knight's Been Delayed into 2015, Here's Some New Footage

Not sure I understand why the guns should be necessary, above all else.

A question: Are we all good to go with calling the Xbox One, PS4, and yes, even the Wii U, as 'current-gen' consoles? I know it's current-gen, but I'm concerned that when I put that, some people would think I'm referring to last-gen PS3, 360 and Wii, so I say "new-gen".

Did any of you complaining about the guns actually watch the trailer..? It literally lists the purpose and ammunition type for each of the guns. Two of the guns that he would use on enemies are non lethal and kinetic rounds, the other two specify for against steel plated things and anti air.

What happens if the front wheels get stuck?

People are making a big deal about there being guns on the car, but the fact it's a rocket powered vehicle that can/could run into any NPCs standing around isn't an issue?

^That is what they would have to overcome first, and chances are they already have and have also figured out something with the guns vs humans as well. The solution is no doubt one and the same, ie they always jump out of the way or whatever.

To be honest, besides that Steam store page says "October, 14th, 2014", there is nowhere I can think of that says this game would be released within 2014, not in those official trailers anyway.

I assume those will be used on other vehicles, or obstacles. I doubt they are going to let you run over, shoot, blow up every thug walking the streets. It would ruin the combat. They also could have non lethal secondary fire modes.

Another next-gen exclusive delayed. So I will update my list: Sunset Overdrive, Assassin's Creed Unity, The Witness, Below, Drive Club, EA Sports UFC, Evolve and maybe Deep Down, The Crew are the announced non-cross-gen games still coming for 2014.

@lurkero: I'd admit that it is a bit unpractical. But that's part of what makes batman so special to me. He is above guns. Even though all logic says it should put him at a huge disadvantage.

@mooseymcman: I guess I should have put more emphasis on my "crazy logic" comment. That's what I was trying to imply. Batman doesn't use guns because he has a certain mindset that would make someone look suicidal in the real world - including wearing a bat-suit and fighting crime with children. Batman doesn't "kill", but the things he does to people can sometimes lead to death.

@lurkero: Batman doesn't not use guns just because he doesn't kill, it's partly because his parents were killed by a gun. Also, you have to remember, for as logical as Batman can be, he's still a very "troubled" person at heart. Sure, there are situations where the most logical course of action might be to use a gun, but logic would also sometimes dictate that dressing up like a bat and fighting crime wouldn't make sense.

If figured many people would make comments against Batman using guns, but keep in mind the first thing Frank Miller did when he revitalized Batman's character was give him guns. It looked like one of the guns said "non-lethal" also.

I agree that guns are a cowards weapon, but when the villains are using guns, the hero should very much be using them too if they don't want to be at a significant disadvantage. Batman uses crazy logic, but the police of Gotham aren't so uptight about it.

I'm sure that the developers know this anyway and will incorporate rubber bullets or something.

So there are no people on the streets conveniently once again and Batman will be shooting the shit out of unmanned drones and tanks.

At some point Batman is just playing a super expensive video game.

Well, I guess Dragon Age and Battlefield will be my only games this fall. Sad times.

@rowr: Liberties are fine, but that's a pretty core tenet of what Batman is.

no shit this gets delayed. so its like what 4-5 AAA games for this fall now? AC. COD, Far Cry 4, Battlefield, Evil Within.

but holy shit 2015 looks like to be a real fucking badass year for games though. maybe this year is the onslaught of indie games, would be the perfect year to just hit people over the head with indie game after indie game if all the big hitters are scheduled for next year.
