I really liked Dirt 2, but it got repetitive pretty quick. Hopefully they can get some more track variety in this one.

This is probably the game I am the most excited about this year. Cockpit view for the win!

This looks absolutely gorgeous

This video has Drew and Dave in it, and also some silly car game.

Giant Bomb needs more Drew in all videos

Looks great, can't wait to get it (for PC of course). Not a huge racing game guy, but I love Dirt 2. Gonna look so damn good.

Edited by X19

I might pick up Dirt2. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a racing game.

I want more split screen in games. It's far more funny to play with friends next to you than some laggy random in another country.

Edited by abdo

Dammit Ryan, we've lost split-screen in a lot of games over the years, including a lot of racing games. I had a friend over who was gonna play some Dead Rising 2 and NFS: Hot Pursuit with me and NEITHER of them had split-screen.

By now split-screen should be standard in racing games, not a feature.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that it's nice to hear from Drew and Dave.

My God this looks incredible.

Holy shit!

Everything needs more Drew and Dave.

That's Battersea power station ... my favourite building :}

Posted by Dunchad

Looks amazing. Really impressed how Finlandy the FInland stage looked - scenery, roads, buildings and etc. were really authentic.

Always good to hear from Dave and Drew.

Edited by Agent47

Nice draw distances for a racing game, usually they stutter in that department.

Hey...what happened to the car from the screenshot?  I feel duped!

Posted by david1790

A video that contains Drew, Davis, Dave and Dirt.. How can you go wrong?

Posted by Chubbaluphigous

I am really surprised that Dave liked the UI in Dirt 2.  To me it said console UI with no thought about the PC.  The game force launced in windowed mode.  The options menu has no setting to fix that.  You can't get to the options menu by pressing esc.  Booting the game up for the first time had you watch some unskippable video.  Since you have to watch the video before you can get to the options menu, you have to watch the video in some super low resolution.

By the time I got the game running in full screen with the graphical setting in their proper place, I was fucking pissed.  After finding more unskippable audio, and menus, and steps, and delays to getting into a race I hit Ctrl Alt Delete.  Dirt 2 is the only game where the UI got me to rage quit.

Is that power station also featured on the cover of Pink Floyd's 'Pigs'?

Poor Drew has to follow the guy who does nothing but play the game all day.

Fuck yeah Dirt 3!

Posted by JayHayabusa

One of my earliest memories of the GiantBomb quick looks is one by Drew and Dave of Dirt 2. That game is still in my top 5 racing games of all time.
Great to see them again on Dirt 3.

@Chubbaluphigous:

I am with you. Did not like the UI at ALL. As far as PC games go they clearly missed the mark. Dirt 2 was a really fun game though.

Yeah, losing split-screen sucks. I don't like Giant Bomb's general attitude towards it, saying everyone just plays each other online now. That's definitely not true, well it wouldn't be if more games still had split-screen. I can't imagine it's a hard feature to include, especially on games that already have online multiplayer.

Chilling out at a friends house playing some vid games is great.

As for Dirt 3 - looking really good.
Posted by BoOzak

I really liked the X-games vibe they had going for DiRT2 i hope they dont dial it back too much. Nice to see the rewind feature still intact for noobs like myself it's nice to know that one slip doesnt equal an instant retry.

..And Kudos to Codemasters for sticking with the PC i know it isnt easy these days but it's appreciated ;)

Edited by Gizmo

Pretty sure it's the Battersea Power Station...
Posted by SomeJerk

Loving the look of the Finland stage, I remember those middle of nowhere roads very well, other than the width of the roads (only were close to that when it was a road meant for logging vehicles) it could be like they took actual rally roads. Buildings are correct for the location and even the trees, as is the depth of the forest.

Gonna at least dip into the demo of this, would love to satisfy at least my love for rally when the Ridge Racer original gameplay does no longer have any games doing it.
