Yeah, I'm with ya Alex. A follow up to Black Flag should be awesome, but I'm just feeling... nothing.

I dunno. Maybe when it gets ported to next-gen consoles, I'll gamefly it.

I've played two great Assassin's Creed games (II, Brotherhood) and two terrible ones (I, III). I've been told Black Flag was a good one again and Unity seems to be shaping up great as well. So this will probably be another terrible one.

The correct way for a fan of the franchise to process this game is as follows.

Step 1. Ignore it exists and buy Unity when it comes out.

Step 2. Play Unity

Step 3. Wait until this inevitably gets a Steam HD release.

Step 4. Purchase then or alternatively...

Step 5. Pick it up stupidly cheap on a steam sale! :D

Guess I am a sucker for any Assasins Creed game where you can command a ship. Will probably get this on console when it comes out.

Unity looks better, but this looks more interesting/fun. I'll admit it, I though Black Flag was were AC was finally being the sort of game it ALWAYS should have been. The main character doesn't peak my interest like Kenway, but he seems alright. I'm ready for another dose of seafaring, but now in the arctic.

I do wonder if they are avoiding the last story because they want to use Kenway in the main story-line somehow somewhere down the road? I mean why shift so dramatically to a new character that is totally different except to make sure they don't fiddle too much with what they want to use later?

I'll give the $40 or less PS4 port a look when that happens next spring/summer because those boats were fun and the idea of being a Templar is interesting.

I'll definitely wait for the (IMO) inevitable current-gen port. I personally think it looks interesting, even if a little less than Unity, but I'm kind of an AC fanboy.

I'm actually more excited for this than Unity, I fell like this at least has some character and intrigue to it where Unity just has cipher assassin as a lead.

Man, between this, Unity, and Mordor, I don't know if I can play 3 AC games in one year. This looks great though.

Exactly how I played Liberation. PC ports for Ubisoft games tend to suck though.

This looks better than Unity to me... more boats, harsher landscape, a protagonist that seems more driven than most of the previous ones save for maybe Ezio. Unity just looks like another take on the classic formula, this looks a bit like Black Flag 2 and frankly I'd rather that.

The story seems very interesting to me. The role-reversal is cool. If (when?) it comes to the PS4 will definitely get it.

This is one thing I like about the weird 12-18 month window of the launch of new consoles: companies like Ubisoft release not one but two totally different games in their annual franchises. Well... the collector side of me likes it, anyway.

Yup. As a die-hard fan of this franchise (I even liked 3 and Revelations...) even I refuse to dust-off the old console to play a step backwards (technically speaking) from the previous PC releases.

@monkeyking1969: Well having Edward kenway go on an assassin-hunting killing spree would be hard to explain considering how the story of IV goes, though if you mean haytham Kenway, I can't really say, all we've seen is that he's on Shay's ship in one of the interviews B-rolls and how this game connects to AC3 is a mystery at the moment.

That said I'm far more interesting in this than unity which presents some minor mission design and mechanical improvements but nothing to actually clarify the story or setting in a way that interests me. Also that everybody wants to rule the world is probably the worst musical matchup the series has done so far.

This looks ... alright. I liked Black Flag quite a bit, but I'm not completely sold on the setting. AC3 and AC4 departed from the dense urban environments that I associate with the series, and while I was fine with how they finally did it in AC4, this looks like more of the same. And while I enjoyed the ship missions in AC4, I'm not seeing anything to really pull me in. Still, compared with what we've seen of Unity, this at least looks like it has an interesting character. We still know next to nothing about Arno. I'll probably pick this up. It may well be the last thing I pick up for the 360. But I'll wait for the reviews before making a final decision.

I'd rather have multiplayer, but this looks fine.

From a narrative perspective I'm much more interested in Rogue than Unity. Playing as a Templar and rolling with Haytham Kenway for a whole game is much more interesting to me than playing some guy killing people during the French Revolution.
