I haven't been following the news but have they said if this is the main HR team, or just outsourced? Do we know what that team is working on, if not?

E3 is around the corner maybe they announce the PC/console sequel we actually want (though doing it in this order seems dumb). I'll reserve my butthurt for now.

I agree with the sentiment though. I wouldn't play this on an iPad/Tablet even if it was free, regardless of quality.

Its good to see that mobile games have reached the quality of the PS2...and it seems that the game is still as yellow as ever. Who the hell is going to buy this? Its not like Human revolution was so good that they needed to port it to the IOS. What a shame.

It makes no sense to put a game like this on iPad. The controls have no chance of working.

I'm not really sure who they're trying to appeal to with this. The people who enjoy Deus Ex are most likely not going to want to play DX on a tablet. And those who love tablet games mostly likely aren't playing Deus Ex games. What a terrible idea.

Exactly what I was thinking. A Metal Gear Acid style Deus Ex game on the IPad would be great. Instead they went this route...

Looks pretty good. Square enix have earned a fair bit of goodwill from me with their recent games, hitman, sleeping dogs, deus ex were all very enjoyable games and tomb raider has been well received. It's a shame it's on iPad, if there's a psn version I'd wait for that

I don't get why this game exists. How many people are interested in seeing their console games shoehorned into a touchscreen-only portable device?

I loved Deus Ex: HR, but that was definitely my biggest sticking point with it. You'd meticulously stealth your way through a level, and then be forced to brazenly saunter into the final room with the big bad guy for a face to face confrontation, in the form of uniformly terrible boss battles. With the exception of the penultimate dude, they were fairly easy and over quickly, at least.

I didn't really HATE that ending, although it makes me cringe when games that emphasize choice lay out those choices in an almost hilariously binary fashion -- a series of buttons, for the different endings, with the consequences literally narrated out for you by Eliza.

The rest of the game and story were great.

So disappointed. I was hoping it'd be a new game, or DLC, or something.

Let me ask you, and not rhetorically. I literally, honestly want to know, who would want a game like this on a tablet? Even assuming it looked like the tablet could run the game at higher than 15 fps. I have trouble playing mobile games for more than 5 minutes in a sitting.

eugh, another ipad "game", why are developers trying shoehorn in big license games onto something with no other means of input other than a touch screen? The worst thing is, this will probably sell a crap load, most likely from a bunch of the people on this thread slagging it off, and thus the cycle will continue.

I played the tablet mass effect TPS, and it was hard... to control.

Can you hook up a bluetooth controllers to ipads? I know those icade things exist

This game seems really heavy on the shooting, something that hasn't always been the strong point of Deus Ex.

Deus Ex is one of my all time favourite franchises, I really hope work on this tablet game & the wii port of Human Rev didn't divert resources that could have been put to a legitimate sequel.

Human Revolution was a terrific throwback to the glory days of the series but it seemed to trade on the nostalgia of it's predecessors a bit too much while titles like Mark of the Ninja & Dishonored did interesting things with stealth mechanics. I hope that if or when they announce a sequel the Developers will spend some time thinking on the mechanics.

@williamhenry: There's no reason to act smart. The fact that they advertise multiple ways of tackling each situation and then force you into head-to-head deathmatch boss battles was ridiculous. The rest of it was alright, if I remember correctly. It has been a while.

I didn't say it was a terrible game. I said I didn't understand how someone could love it so much.

I wouldn't be surprised if there won't be any native controller support. I'm too lazy to set up those controller emulation apps. Takes more time that it's worth to get things to work perfectly.

@oursin_360: It's because of the platform. Sure the Modern Combat games by Gameloft do pretty well . But touch controls for shooters are pretty much unusable to those who mainly play them on PC and consoles.

Why the complaints? It's a 7 dollar ipad game not a 60 dollar xbone exclusive. I never played a game like this on a tablet but it seems to look pretty decent considering the platform

Assuming this comes with native controller support, I don't see what the problem is here. At this point I really don't care anymore if I have to play games on an Android tablet (I know, an Android release hasn't been announced yet, but it'll be there eventually) or a dedicated gaming device. Tablet and smartphone graphics are at least on par with what the Vita can do, and if they haven't surpassed it already, they will soon. You can also find Android devices that already have the controller built in, or in the case of the Wikipad, allow you to slide the tablet into a controller sleeve.

If Square Enix never published another game for 3DS/Vita, I'd be fine with that, as there's simply no real difference anymore like there was just a few years ago. If I had to decide whether the next Kingdom Hearts (a franchise very near and dear to my heart) gets released on 3DS or iOS/Android, I'd certainly pick the latter as those devices are simply more powerful, have bigger screens, and can be hooked up to a TV. All I ask is that they add native controller support.

This looks like the exact game but on a mobile device and with a different character/story. It also looks like it could just be on 3ds and vita or even psn/xbla.

Hah... and people thought Eidos couldn't do worse than Invisible War. Who is this made for anyway?

Also, I actually liked Invisible War (on Xbox) for what it was.

I don't think the Deus Ex experience necessarily needs to be a 1st-person shooter, because all your getting with this is a shoddier looking and shoddier playing version of Human Revolution. I think you could do a pretty cool adaption of the Deus Ex universe with a top-down turn-based game or something similar.

Because story is the only reason why anyone could like a game right?
