Avatar Dev Diary: Crafting A Universe

I heard a lot of talk and not much about the game itself. They need to tell me why I should invest my time and money in this product.

A whole lot of rhetoric, not a lot of anything else.

Blah blah blah blah James Cameron? blah blah blah blah.

Wow whoever made this Dev Diary needs to cut back on all the buzzwords, they sound so trite and contrived the game looks nice though but a bunch of heavy drums, buzzwords, dramtic camera and audio effects don't sell a game to me.

When that guy said it was an "Experience" I thought that it was the most cheesiest thing I've ever heard. I am however very interested in this movie but I'm going to remain a skeptic until I hear more about the gameplay.

with lots of movie-based games being horrible, it's hard not to be skeptical.
but, the movie looks amazing, and this IS being developed by Ubisoft, so... there's hope there.

You heard it hear first, Avatar: The Movie is not really a movie and Avatar: The Game is not really a game.

It looks like a decent game, at the very least. Does remind me of lost planet a LOT though.

Well if they're made by EA than yes you are correct. 
but this actually looks like a lot of work going into it, and seems to be a quality product. 
 They're not just looking at it like a movie version of the game, but an actual story that is being 
cared for just like the film.

Who knows if the game will be good or bad?  The thing that I like about it is that they started working on the movie and the game at the same time.  I've been waiting for someone to take that approach to a movie-game for a long time.

I'm putting money down for "movie will be good, game will suck." Also, I find it hilarious that there's a movie coming out called "Avatar" and another movie coming out called "The Last Airbender."

these guys are full of crap... its not game its not a movie...its an experience. wtf?!  This game is gonna be one of the worst of the year...whenever it comes out...i read about in a 4 page spacial in a magazine, they themselfs don't even know what they want to do.

Sounds like a simple shoot-'em up to me.  - The technology wasn't available to tell the story? Bullshit! Write a book! There probably isn't enough content for one. -

No, thats fact. Not ALL games based on movies suck. it is definitely a fact. Its also a fact that MOST games based on movies suck. Escape From Butcher Bay, and King Kong are definitely great games.

I really like the look of the world, looks...big. The kind of place you'd want awesome superpowers and just move around in. Not that I think you'll be doing any of that.

You know... I just watched this. And I watched him yap on an on at E3 and I still have no clue at all what this game is. Looks pretty much like Halo with flowers to me.
 
When someone has to talk so much about how great it is, but never actually show me anything I'm going to guess it's because what they have is nothing.
 
If this isn't some amazing new thing, neither movie nor game then it can sit there and rot on a Gamestop shelf for all I care. =/  When making a game and a movie, shouldn't that be your goal?

I cant wait until the end of these and James Cameron pulls off his mask and you see its Peter Molyneux. I don't see why this is supposed to be such a big deal, it just looks like a generic alien world that we have seen a million times over with a generic action shooter game play. I feel sorry for anybody who expects this to be anything more then a half decent sci-fi movie, and maybe a mediocre game. Time will see if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like i am from what i have seen so far.

ya know what, it sounds like theyre getting the same level of commitment from everyone that games like Riddick got and Path of Neo got. I loved both of those games. this one sounds like it will be very fun. 

Remember Peter Jackson going off about the Kong game? yeah.

From that press conference at ubisoft, he really seems dedicated to the game. SO i hope it turns out better then video game tied movies
