Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 Revealed

I really hope the final title is not Arkham Asylum 2, mainly because I hope it's not set in A.S. again. How about Batman: Gotham City?

It seems like the entire teaser takes place outside of Arkham. Awesome! I hope there's still that trapped feeling of the first game though. Maybe a chunk of Gotham is somehow cut off from the rest. I'm pretty excited about Black Mask and Two-Face references as well!

Already? Doesn't this seem a little quick for a sequel? I hope they have something different in store though. Loved the first one and I don't even like Batman. I just hope this sequel is a little more to offer us then just a new building. 
 
I also totally understand why they would bring the Joker back. I mean seriously, you wouldn't be able to make a full-length game focusing on any of the other villains. There's just no comparison to the Joker as far as the Batman universe is concerned.

I bet this game will be called Batman 2: Gotham City. Kinda going the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare route.

Sounds like Eidos is on board with this now. Its telling. 
 
Please, Rocksteady, take your time and don't release this next year. Too many heavy hitters next year to risk it really. Going up against a Halo title and mass Effect 2, and GT5 and God of War 3 is crazy.

Whoah, didn't see that coming

this should have been announced at E3 2010. It would have been better and showed a little effort in making a sequel instead we get the announcement now and all it shows is that they want more money.

The sooner the better (as long as game play and story do not suffer).

Pretty awesome, I just hope they don't rush it.

It's Two-Face, Penguin and Roman Sionis, by the looks of it.  It also appears that the whole of Gotham has been walled off, hence 'Arkham has moved' - Which echoes the 'No Man's Land' storyline.  

Apart from the storyline, I'm pretty interested in seeing how the game functions in the open space of Gotham City (or where ever it takes place...Bloodhaven?)  The Asylum was a contained environment, so how will that work in an open setting?  Will it be an open world like Assassin's Creed 2 or will there be many invisible walls keeping us on a path?  I'd think it's too soon for them (Rocksteady) to be able to construct an appropriately detailed open world, so I am worried by the change of locale in this game. 

titan-like formuled poison things are really over used in both movies and games, i hope we can see something original in the sequel of this fun game.

 I would of rather of had a new villain instead of the Joker again maybe Rhas Al Ghul, Hush, The Riddler, or Two-Face as the main villain but still if it adds to the pure awesomeness of the first I will be happy. Now if only they can make a Daredevil game (the GBA game doesn't count) or a Superman game that doesn't suck. I'll be in nerd heaven.

I guess this is cool. I enjoyed Arkham Asylum, but not nearly as much as everyone else. I was hoping to see what else Rocksteady was capable of.

This was my theory how they would make a sequel.  it's called arkham 2 but really it's just that all the arkham people have escaped into gotham.  my feeling is that it's goin to feel too similar to the first because it's going to be so close.  we all recognize it takes a good 3 years to make a quality game, i fear that this will be the same game with slight tweaks

It's about 3am around my place, I haven't slept for 24 hours and I totally jumped when lightning struck at the beginning. It scared the hell out of me for a tiny moment.
E: And it looks pretty damn sweet.

We haven't seen any gameplay or real story revelations. It is just something to say "Hey, remember this game? It is getting a sequel now." You guys are judging it waaaaaay to soon.

OH CRAP YES!!!

So many people jumping the gun here. Was there even a hint of a release date? Remember, they took extra time to polish the first one, they may have been working on the sequel at the same time.  Either way, I would be surprised if we even see this next year. I believe it was just a teaser to let people know the game is in the works.
 
AA was an excellent title, and as long as Rocksteady takes their time and makes it as good as the first, I'm in.

Joker must be Sick from all the Titian formula that he put in his body in the first game. Also if you look closely you can see that all the Uncle sam pictures are Two-Face and Penguin Entering The Ice berg lounge 

Well there's no surprise this was in the works, but it is a surprise that this would be announced this early.

So it's the sequel to Arkham Asylum in an amusement park... perfect. Day 1.

So much for Mark Hamill claiming that he wasn't going to do the Joker voice anymore.  He must be getting quite the paycheque.

To you people going on about why it has to be Arkham Asylum again and why we can't get out into the streets of Gotham: Best watch the trailer again. The start of it shows the camera pulling back and away from the closed gate of the asylum, then pans up to look out over Gotham itself. And next scene is Joker's gang running amock in the streets of Gotham. As for Joker, well, we KNOW at least Two-Face will play a central part this time around, and personally I can't get enough of this version of the Joker... :D

Does Joker have cancer? Anyways it'll be interesting to see what they do using Gotham City this time around.
