Both of these maps could play very well on the respected game types and Why are people complaining? it's not like there're charging for them.

Hey guys, you do know that the NEW new maps are coming in BC2: Vietnam right?  I mean that so-called "expansion", as best as I can tell is just a regular old map pack.  I wonder how much they are going to charge for that puppy?

They may be releasing the same maps, but those are maps that were previously only for other modes, and they play very differently depending on what mode you play on them. So its pretty awesome, and they are free, so who cares.  ---------------   Also, this video is totally unrealistic and obviously fake. I miss real conquest mode. Sick of these Rush conversions.

I have a blast every time I play this game (and get into a good group), so I won't get all grumpy about them not being "new" maps.  Still, it would be really nice to get something fresh.

I spot like crazy - you can get a good amount of points for spotting from a UAV with the zoom modifier thing. Just sit at max distance with a nice TV and hit the back button to spot people repeatedly then rain down smart bombs on snipers.

bout time they added atacama to rush and port valdez to conquest.  i was hoping for actually "new" maps but more maps is good too.

Man this game is so good. It's got me hooked.

It's so awesome being a VIP. Out of my way everybody! I'm getting free map packs! Can't wait to see what these new maps look like.
 

 To be fair, it's "free" in the sense that you have to pay $10 for the VIP access, because even if you got the game brand new, you have just lost $10 of resell value as soon as you opened the wrapper. Thus for my $10 I would hope to see a few NEW maps, not just rehashed map modes. 
But more than that, I'd love it if they fixed the rubberbanding... or actually supported the game in countries where they released the game (like here in Japan that only seems to have servers during the day...)

Atacama Rush looks like a good time, always wished that map had rush. Pretty pumped for the Vietnam DLC. I wish there was something more for 1943 but hey, maybe that'll come later.

This might also be an unfair comment to make, but, did anyone think about how much longer it takes DICE to make a map than it does Infinity Ward? What with destructible environments and vehicles and what not to account for?  
 
Plus, DICE added that survival mode right? I forget its name though ... but also on the flip side of that Infinity Ward already had a lot of Co-Op stuff... in another mode whose name escapes me right now.  
 
Also, in making comparisons between IF and DICE it might also be important to consider that IF already had map packs in development at launch and dated - whereas DICE's development of BC2:VIETNAM, well, who knows when that started?

They've taken far long to do that now.

Yeah - the new maps are great fun. Already played a couple of hours on them. Albeit I could be bickering about many things, like Atacama not being a true tank warfare map.

It might not be new maps (which I would prefer, I don't want to have to wait until the end of the year for the Vietnam expansion), but atleast they are using two great maps and modes.  Map Pack 3 was terrible

i stopped playing this game...they never added in any real new maps,opening other game mode maps to other game types ain't a Mappack!!!!,they should of had it on release for fuck sakes...its just a unlock

I actually might get back into this when this map pack rolls 'round.

Stopped playing this game about a month ago due to boredom with the same maps.  These so-called 'map packs' don't fool anyone. If they can't get some new maps together in a reasonable amount of time (way past that now) they should get that map editor out so the community can.

i dont care about these rehashes of old maps i want new maps its benn almost five months the maps are getting really stale.

 BC2 hasn't felt like a battlefield game because the maps are so confined.  If they eventually release new maps and they happen to be large maps with real room for vehicles I would gladly come back.  I don't see that happening though.    

Agree with general sentiment, while good maps to enjoy, you kind of wish they made brand new ones instead of modifying existing ones. 
 
Altho the flip side is would we be willing to pay for map packs ala MW2 (not necesarily at the same £10 pricemark)

The Rush versions of these previously non-rush maps are actually pretty good, they can be considered a new map. 
 
But the rush maps that go backwards to conquest or whatever are just a small chunk of that map, which is stupid. 
 
I'm very disappointed at DICE. Even the guys at Infinity Ward, who have like 3 people left making maps, pumped out two map packs. And they don't even have a good game! 
 
Also, is the stupid lag fixed on the East Coast? I swear, it was like my main enemy in every MP game was that damn rubberbanding lag. 

Can't argue with free, I guess. Just wish we didn't have to wait till Vietnam to get new maps.... and only four at that.
