Then good thing there are and will be other games. (Tough for everyone [Nintendo included] if no other game on their platform is deemed personally worthy.)

Sorry, but the audience doesn't have much of a say in the business of where games go. Or rather they had their say when Bayonetta (1) wasn't an inspiring, God-of-War-sized hit for Sega. (According to VGChartz [!], Bayonetta has sold about 2 million copies worldwide, but who knows how many of those were at a discount. As long as we're here at VGChartz, The Wonderful 101 has sold about 160k worldwide.)

At least Bayonetta 2 will, factually, exist as a game a person can possibly buy/rent/borrow/steal and play. At least a person can buy, borrow, or steal a Wii U and then have the platform they can play the game on. The full game will exist and it is wrong and selfish to think on any line of thought to deny its existence. A nice-looking sequel to a beloved game is being made; that should be celebrated. Full stop.

So people are bitching about this being Nintendo exclusive, even though it wouldn't exist without Nintendo. Sounds about right I suppose.

Pretty much.

This is the game that will get me to buy a Wii U. I have my fingers crossed for a limited edition console.

No one is denying its existence - I'm simply saying the existence that befell it for various reasons will be largely useless for a majority of the original's fans. Especially now when new consoles have come out, and people are hungerly awaiting quite literally any new releases - I doubt many of those people are really looking forward to buy another console without a lot of great games and a murky feature lineup.

I get what you're saying, it's cool that it exists at all, but you have to agree that the Wii U isn't a really lucrative purchase proposition right now, especially if you aren't a fan of first party Nintendo properties.

@hunter5024 People are upset because a sequel to a game they really enjoyed in what is increasingly becoming a niche genre is coming out on a console they have no interest in owning, and is being published by a company that likewise has little interest in publishing it elsewhere. I honestly don't understand why it's so hard to understand the other side of the argument. I will never purchase a Wii U, ever, and thus I will never get to play Bayonetta 2 - I both really like character action games, of which there aren't many coming out these days, and I really loved Bayonetta. So how does this game coming out for the Wii U somehow invalidate my apparently "nonsensical" disappointment? It's not somehow fundamentally unreasonable for people to be disappointed here.

C'mon, this'll just be Rayman Legends all over again. Go ahead and announce it's coming to other platforms Platinum! We all know it's coming!

Except not. It's crazy how people still don't know this: Nintendo is funding this game. They "own" this game. This is not going anywhere. Bayonetta 2 exists at all because they're footing the bill.

Someone remind me why this became an exclusive to the Wii U?

Because Nintendo is funding and publishing it. This only exist because Nintendo got involved.
