@Wes899: You know, I also thought that it didn't look like Japanese. But surely there wasn't a Chinese text version? I mean...

Microsoft has not released the Xbox 360 in mainland China. It is estimated that perhaps over 2 million Xbox are in use in China with some of them being hacked. Some of them are still selling in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and others...

Goota say on the other hand these videos were fantastic! Great work Bombers!!!

I loved it when I played it, but I was also much younger. It's extremely flawed, but damn if it wasn't fun for a while.

"Much younger"? Didn't that game come out like 5 years ago?

August 2008.

Means this dude is young enough to consider a bit more than 4 years a very large part of his life.

Not that it matters, but I'm 26.

Also,if you don't consider 4-5 years of your life a big deal you're wasting your life away. Might want to make more of your time.

I love the whole deliberate "wait five seconds for the dumb audience applause that we'll insert during post production". I can't imagine how silly the filming of a real sitcom is.

The thing with Jeff's house is they hardly needed to do anything to it. It's ready made.

No idea why you felt the need to deliver a comeback when nobody insulted you. The only point people were making is that your choice of words make it sound like you're 16 - which many of the users here probably are. Anyway, people being hostile on the internet. News at eleven.

The box on the right is in Chinese. It look like it's a release for Taiwan and Hong Kong region. Both region read and write traditional form of Chinese (which the box art has) as oppose to China's simplified form.

Next time GOTY rolls around they should do a video where Vinny moves to the hood, teaches a group of at risk kids to play basketball while learning the power of friendship, and then they hold a tournament to save the community center from an evil business mogul.

Import game junkie here. Your assertion would be correct. The Xbox doesn't have an official commercial presence in mainland China, but it does indeed have one in both Taiwan and Hong Kong, which are regions that work mostly autonomously from the Chinese Communist Party in terms of how their legal and economic systems operate. (Obviously this isn't the place to get into the actual nitty gritty about Taiwan's autonomy, but in this instance for companies like Microsoft, that's how things kind of pan out.) A fair number of Japanese games also get exported to those regions untranslated in their native language, which is worth knowing if only because they're almost always cheaper than the "actual" Japanese versions.

Yeah you are right, the political aspect of the region might be too hard core of topic to be discuss here. A side note, it doesn't look like Giantbomb wiki keep track of official Chinese language releases. I guess those games are technically specialized Japanese releases.

This might not exactly be directly related to this but when I was in the Philippines I found that the NTSC-J versions (possibly Japanese?) of Xbox 360 games were a lot cheaper and do work in Region 1 consoles (i.e. NTSC or NA, US-based consoles). I bought Reach, Red Dead Redemption, and AC: Brotherhood by roughly 10 - 15 USD cheaper on day one than the NTSC version, wherein the price is almost exactly the same as it is here. Also the NTSC-J versions do have Japanese text on the covers along side the English Text but the game itself is pretty much in English by default. Thought this was something I'd like to add to the discussion. :)
