It's a shame they weren't able to deliver on the scale of this demo. The battle here is at least 5 times larger than the finished game's biggest fight. When I saw this I was expecting there to be city-size skirmishes with miles of rails. What we ended up with were smaller, secluded, instances with a rail or two for easy transportation.

And yet it is still one hell of a game and one of my favorites in years. It would be exhilarating to play this demo, but what the final game gave us was engaging, fascinating, and enthralling.

Now seeing how a lot of the stuff in this demo was used in the finished game but with varying degrees of difference is really interesting. Different locations and set ups but the story beats remain the same. A few parts were taken out all together though, like that horse scene. Voice acting and work that polished that is not in final version seems crazy to me. They really care about experimenting and not just shipping everything they make. I wish all games were made with this love and care.

This literally blew me away. The whole style of this game looks fantastic, fresh, and absolutely mind-blowing. I love how this leaves you asking questions about the story and the game in general. It's hard to believe this is a Bioshock game, it's totally new on almost every level. It looks like a new advancement in the games to come. Bioshock Infinite looks like the future of gaming. I think a lot of developers will have to take a lot of preparation for their titles to be close to how this game looks. Let's hope that this game lives to the hype though. Not even a demo can talk for the whole game's feel, story, ending, etc.

Being a cynical jerk, I'll believe it when I can play it. Until then, I'll just have to remain skeptical that this game can make doing all that crazy shit so easy.

The way i see it. it has to happen sometime right? why not now? all the great things in life always come when either your least expect it or when everyone is telling you its impossible.

The interaction between Elizabeth, the protagonist, and the SongBird was phenomenal.

Spoilers: As the Songbird comes in for the kill, Elizabeth comes back from the past riding a T. Rex and engages in epic battle.

I expected Booker to have a much more southern accent, at the very least a light twang.

I'm really liking the ambient population. In both Bioshock and B:I, you're coming into a destroyed utopia. However, in B:I not only are there enemies (duh) but there's also some semblance of society continuing their anarchic existence.

Yes, it's a video game, but I can't get on board with the "skyline" idea. His arm should have torn clean off about 3 different times there.

You know what I just realized? The level is fucking huge. I'm surprised there's not a loading bar every time you get on a rail.

The gameplay looks fantastic. The integration between the scripting and gameplay looks seemless. The world looks great.

Game looks incredible. A little worried over the scripting, as i want to "control" the character, not have it "control" me throughout the game.  Only played a fragment of the previous BioShock games and got quickly bored. I really hope it doesnt happen with this. There's some neat ideas in there

Oh, course not. Have you played the other Bioshock games? There are times when you rock the house down, but there's plenty of time to walk around picking up new abilities, collecting perks on enemies and listening to audio diaries or whatever. It looks like there'll be loads of pedestrians in this one.

Yo that was nuts and awesome!

Some animation stuff stuck out, and the talking was all really theatrical and more dramatized than real life, I'm not really into that, but hey the rest was great! As bar-raising as Bioshock 1 maybe!

Maybe. I'm totally buying it though.

Fantastic stuff! But for all the talk I am not as flabbergasted as some. I think what broke it down for me was just the iron sight fighting and how the sky-rail stuff does not seem as CRAZY as others made it out to be. I want to explore and see all there is of that city way more than I want to collect items and shoot guns. The violence/faction fighting seems like a disconnect for me because the demo runs through it so quickly. Weird I know, but I'm being honest. Maybe it's because it was way less of a surprise after reading all the very detailed previews. Also it was pretty cool that ever game journo on twitter that I follow, was pretty much directing everyone to see this footage. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

@Nomin: No Levine has said in a couple of interviews that you'll be able to navigate and use the skylines however you went. There were lots of things that could have went on in a complete different way. You should check out the extended version of this demo on gametrailers where Levine goes into more detail about what's going on.

My best guess is that the game took place in 1983, around the May- June period.
It's cause of the Jedi Returns sign on the movie theater when the girl opened up the tear thingy.

They can't keep this up for 10+ hours. No way. Also, I hope they completely redo the gunplay from the first Bioshock. Went back to game recently, and man, gunplay in that game is tedious.
Also, I'm kind of bummed that the voice actor for Booker isn't Nolan North.

I wonder if Songbird is related to the Big Daddies of the first Bioshock. His eyes changing from yellow to red when he was chasing Booker and the look of his arms remind me of them. Also very hyped for this game.

This game will have to be full of indicators of where you should go, or be heavily scripted. Else people will have to wander around forever trying to find the next "trigger". I really like the look of it though, but I find it hard to believe this will be a level in the game as it is now.
