This is pretty lame. "Spartans are born". Yeah whatever, you take a regular soldier and inject him with some fluids. Done and done.

" @OrgunUK: A lot of people made the mistake in the last video as well. This is not the making of a SPARTAN II, which involved a lot of messing around with their bones, more medications and juice, and generally a lot more pain. This is the making of a SPARTAN III. They where easier to make, cheaper, but not as good as the II's. But since they where cheaper, and the added fact that they didn't need genetically perfect specimens, they could more or less just pump them out and use them on dangerous and difficult missions.
http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Spartan_III
  http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Carter-A259 "

This.

It's not "Birth Of A Spartan II". They don't show the years of finding near perfect genetic kids, years and years of training, the "augmentations" that cripple or kill half of the trainees, and the other months of training they go through after the augmentations (and more after they get the armor), because that was for the II's.

S3's get less training, a different set of injections that aren't as lethal but make somewhat the same and (morally questionable) new results (for instance, one injection makes them go into a rage before death to try and kill even more dudes), they get fitted with shittier armor (Camo armor that makes them stealth, which is kind of easy to detect at medium range, and has way less armor than the S2's) then get shipped off for one mission where they all probably die. The one thing they hope happens is that just enough Spartan III's survive so they can help train more. A lot of missions had a 100% Casualty rate. One mission, sending 300 S3's to take out a refueling station, had two survivors. One then went mute for the rest of her life and they both ended up training more Spartan III's (along with Kurt, a S2, and Mendez, who trained S2's).

There's a reason they're called "expendable heroes". I'm guessing this trailer was "made after" Carter had already done his training, so he was sent to an orbital station for his augmentations. It'd be boring to show him sitting (well, laying) there for hours as the drugs changed his body. Though I do agree it'd of been more interesting showing some of their training like that ODST trailer.

/end way overly-long rant

If I remembered correctly Spartan 3s don't have personal shields, cause they use a shittier-make of armor compared to Spartan 2s that focuses on stealth, tactics and teamwork rather than a one-man-army regime.

So how does that make Halo Reach even work?

The extended cut is much more interesting.  I enjoyed it.  The teaser seemed awkward and out of context (which now makes sense).

I don't understand, how is this a reflection on Americans?  The director is Israeli and the ads are not being shown exclusively in the United States but in several countries.

The Spartan-III's generally used crappier equipment because they were designed for quick, tactical suicide missions.  The Noble squad that you play as in this game are the best of the S-III's who were able to survive the missions they were supposed to be killed on, thus they've been given better equipment on par with the Spartan-II's.

That was stupid.
I was expecting something more invasive with that procedure.
Also a serious lack of cybernetic implants.
Also they're supposed to be like.. Trained from childhood 7 foot tall genetically modified monstrosities.

So everyone in the multiplayer is also part of Noble? Like if you're going to justify some of the canon-defying stuff, at least do a better job at it Bungie for christ sakes.

Everyone plays as their own version of Noble 6 from the campaign.
I don't think the multiplayer is supposed to be canon.

Since when has multiplayer ever been canon in any game? that would fuck up storylines quite a bit if you asked me
