Been wanting to play Diablo 3 but I've decided to wait until the expansion comes out with all the big changes. Kind of a long wait. Good thing I never finished Diablo 2...

This trailer seems very.. Undiabloish..

The music seems very out of place.

But all in all, this game was the biggest gaming disappointment i've had in about five years so i don't think i'll be getting the expansion.

Whoa whoa whoa! It might not be the holy grail of loot RPG's but surely it's not as disappointing as Sim City.

@jedge: Indeed, I liked the way the game played with a controller more.

Sacrilege and all.

Did I miss a trailer that said what cool new things are being added, or is this expansion back shoring up weaknesses in the base game?

I also have to say, I don't HATE Diablo 3, a lot of people do, call it a TERRIBLE WORST GAME EVER MADE EVER.

Which is a bit of a load.

It was a fun game, it just did a terrible job of being fun for more than 20 hours by having a bad loot system and combat that made for very few "valid" builds.

I didn't like DIablo 3 much, but somehow have 29 hours in the game? The changes they've made seem interesting though and I like the witch doctors piranha/bogodile attack they showed off

Ah, Diablo 3. My most loved/hated game of the past couple years. I love it because the combat is so fluid and satisfying and, well, it's freaking Diablo. I hate it because the AH made the game near unplayable past the 100 hour gameplay mark (and the story is pretty 'meh'). I recently played the console version on my PS3 and I do not exaggerate when I say it puts the PC version to shame. This is a case where a game is vastly better on consoles than on PC. If you absolutely hate the AH but still like the core gameplay of D3, I would highly suggest buying/renting the console version and seeing for yourself just how much better this game is on consoles. The loot system is adjusted so that you can get all the best gear in the game without the AH. It's really nice. PC players kinda got the shaft on this one, but if you can swing it, play D3 on console.

How does this come to consoles? A full standalone/tweaked version like XCOM: Enemy Within?

I have the PC version, but I will rebuy if this hits consoles to have couch co-op.

The console version totally redeemed Diablo 3 for me. Probably put over sixty hours into it on PS3 when I barely finished Normal on PC. And being able to transfer my characters over to PS4 for Reaper of Souls is awesome. I like the options they are adding to the end game with RoS. Its something more to do than farming runs of the same boss. Everyone hating on D3 for its lack of end game what were we angry for. Do you really miss Baal runs? Yeah it was a good time for shootin the shit with people but it was pointless.

@veektarius: Each to their own. Based off your post I think you would disagree with me, but I like the passives, active skills, end game, leagues, crafting and economy more than D3. The only thing D3 has over POE is more fluid combat. Maybe if POE explodes they can improve that, but if they don't, the things I like about the game keep me playing until I don't notice the clunky combat. The trading has issues, but hopefully in late winter/early spring they will add the new web trading ect. I wish GB would cover POE, but I think they would have to get someone to spend 20+ hours to give the game a fair showing.

Not sure that I see the point to clans in a game like Diablo...unless they had a clan system that spanned multiple games like a WOW clan actually being a "blizzard clan" and those members were in the same clan throughout Starcraft, Diablo, WoW, etc.

@epicurwin: Having not reached endgame (I think I stopped playing in the last act of the base difficulty) I can only say that I found enemies took too long to kill and the nature of abilities made it impossible to play the game the way I wished, except by making use of the player economy, which was too obtuse to understand without explicitly asking questions about how it worked. The passive skill grid was probably my favorite part of it.

What really made me quit though was the size of zones and the difficulty of finding warp points. The last couple times I played, I found myself going for almost an hour longer than I wanted to play just so I could make some measurable progress. Not what I want in a game.

Diablo 3 was okay, but I'm not on board if it's just more of that. It gave up too much of what made Diablo 2 fun in favour of sending you from plot beat to plot beat through a story that wasn't even that memorable. Something about angels and human angels and lady Diablos.

While i always liked the Sim City games back in the day i never expected anything out of the new one.

I had great hopes for D3.

I loved Diablo 3, and I am really excited for Reaper of Souls. I still say that D3 did a lot to improve on D2, for everyone except people who preferred planning a game to playing it. It was easily one of my favorite games of the year when it came out. I've been playing it for ages and I still think I haven't managed a level 60, I may have got close once.

Reaper of Souls just looks like it is bringing a ton of stuff to the formula. A new class alone probably would have sold me.

Playing the PS4 version at BlizzCon was Diablo nirvana. I can't wait to create my own Crusader.

I wonder if it's morally correct to purchase Diablo III now that they've removed the real-money transactions from the game, which were the reason I didn't initially want to support it. What message would that send, if any at all?
