Really insightful comments by Alex, Patrick and Dean. Agree 100% with their views on the industry and the public.

Warning: Mr. Dodrill is REALLY quiet in comparison to Scoops and the Wolf.

This is becoming a great feature

Hell yeah, Double D! Dust was wonderful.

Scooz and the AWWOOOOOOOOLF.

Damn it Alex, straighten those frames on your wall!

Edited by TehPickle

Ahh the volume issues were really unfortunate here. I felt like I spent about as much time adjusting the audio as I did listening.

Still, it was great to see a guest, and Dean was a good one! :)

KA-BOOOOOM!!!!!

Edited by MeatSim

I got some of that Dust. Thanks Scoops and the Wolf, and of course Dean.

Many thanks to Alex and Patrick for having me on! Apologies about the volume levels, that was on me. Hopefully my end will sound better in the audio-only version as I had a chance to clean it up.

That white border is blinding. I'll just listen to the audio.

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

First one of these I caught live, great show, keep it up!

I'll catch one of these live at some point. Love these and keep em coming.

Bombin' the A.M. With Scoops and the Wolf!

That has to be one of the best names for a show i've ever heard! I laugh every time i read it.

Posted by Skooky

Patrick: Hey man, I'm asking you a question.

Dust Dude: ........................

Patrick: Aww man, I totally heard your answer, but nobody at home did. It's too bad I can't possibly know that right now.

Edited by rasko_the_brave

I love bombin', especially in the A.M.

Also, one of the worst :)

Classic Giant Bomb style.

These things happen. I found a level that worked for me and you were great, really interesting. Thanks for being part of it. Also, loved your game. :)

I know it's not really feasible, but watch with your hand on the volume. I thought Dean's even-handed insight was worth it.

I recently played through Dust and liked it so much I got all the achievements. Interested to hear this.

Posted by SmokePants

Patrick needs a nickname with more than one syllable to get the morning zoo cadence right. How about "Bombin' the AM with Scoopster and the Wolf"?

Posted by dragaroo

Wouldn't have called it, but this has rapidly become one of the best features on the site. And Dodrill's a great get for a first guest - a lot of great insight.

Keep it up Scoops and Wolf! (And book more guests!)

Dust is an amazing game .

@noogy: You were an awesome guest!

Good stuff.

As for the last bit of discussion there, I hope anyone making light of people threatening the lives of someone's children because they didn't particularly like the writing in a video game are really ashamed of themselves. And also catch cancer. You pieces of shit.

I'm sorry. I can't tell if you're trying to be part of the problem or part of the solution?

Edited by Hassun

@noogy: Thanks for appearing on the show! And thanks for your game of course.

People may not be playing Dust longer. They may be kicking up Dust and just letting it sit in the background. Sell off cards for a dozen games and you'll end up with $10-15 bucks. It's that dumb.

Blinding white backround is baaaaad!

Posted by Bane122

@skooky: He did know, it was brought up in the chat. He just couldn't do anything about it.

This is a good feature - AAAAprooved!

I love these new segments with Patrick and Alex, good insightful discussions of the games industry between the two and Dean Dodrill was a great guest.

This can is a true in many cases, but didn't bring it up since I didn't want to ramble on too long. Either way it sort of keeps your game high up on the 'currently playing' list, which in turn brings more exposure.

I have no doubt adding cards helped during my Summer Sale period. In fact I had the cards done weeks earlier, but Valve highly orchestrates the release of those cards, and evidently it pays off.

Posted by PsychoPenguin

@noogy: I know for a fact that adding cards helped sell the game. I have some steam friends that buy games simply to get cards and craft badges. Some people are crazy for the cards.

Too bad they didn't talk anything about microsoft's Europe tier 2 stuff.

Dean seems like a cool guy, this is quickly becoming my favorite new feature, love seeing more of Alex too.

People should take threats from the internet more seriously these days since online and offline life are become way more combined. Let's all agree to be better people on the internet, yeah?

Edited by Tiny_Tank

Yeah this was insanely interesting and entertaining. Also really cool to know that Dean is a consumer of GiantBomb content.

Posted by Paddles

Great Show. This is fast becoming the one of my favorite, if not the favorite feature on the site. And Dean was a great guest with thoughtful explanation and experience that was great to listen to, hope he appears again in the future.

Patrick, I notice you seem to get just a bit flustered and your attention wanders when what I believe is your wife (Total guess) walks around the back of the camera. Your eyes betray you, it almost seems like it bothers you. Just an odd observance, could be nothing. GREAT choice of guest and an awesome continuing special. Thank you.

Edited by cthomer5000

@patrickklepek

1. Love your content, miss your podcast presence.

2. You want to either close those blinds during recording, or move your computer/camera position 90 degrees to your right.*

Watch the video for a minute or two, and look at the difference in lighting between you and Alex. Good photography for Alex, with the light either coming from in front of the camera or from the side (looks to be a 315 degree angle from his nose, based on the shadows on his face), as opposed to your light positioning where it seems to be mostly coming from the rear.

*If that entire room is windows, you want to close the blinds on those to your left and right, and leave those in front of you open (and keep your computer where it is).

3. The audio issues are obvious and others have addressed them. Keep moving forward and learning from the broadcast mistakes. The content and strength of both your and @alex's analysis is well worth it.

But the money is coming from somewhere. A percentage of the money from each sale is taken out of the Steam economy, going to the developer and Valve. Just think about how it works for a few minues, and you'll realize it's literally a can't-lose proposition for everyone involved. Even if no one plays the game for real, new money is entering the Steam economy, and both Valve and game developers are getting a piece of it that they wouldn't otherwise.

I wasn't sure about this morning show thing but I've been pleasantly surprised. Keep it up duders!

Edited by Benmo316

It was great to listen to Dean on Bombin' the A.M. I can't wait until another guest appears. Great work guys.

Posted by theeasternbloc

This is just... fantastic. Bringing Alex into the mix of Giantbomb content has been loooooong overdue. And guests as well! Man....
