Yes, this looks truly awful in every conceivable way, the 3D Realms legacy continues.

Edit: It's completely boggling how anyone would air something like this in 2014, much less fully announce it as a game. You'd think 3D Realms would put that whole Duke past behind them and try to really nail a game to show everyone that they can still put out quality product - but no.

I'm honestly excited for this! ...assuming it comes out.

I still refuse to believe 3D Realms is even still in existence let alone in possession of enough funds to do a collaboration in any form. Anyways it's still early, but I don't have much hopes for it being anything more than a bland shooter that belongs back in the PS2/Xbox era.

Really though, how the fuck can you make a metal bikini wearin' cyborg armed chopper ridin' shotgun totin' lady as excruciatingly boring as that teaser was?! Something is wrong.

Huh. I don't know. Interceptor's Rise of the Triad reboot was fantastic, but this was just weird.

Oh...OH. Oh, no...t-this looks bad...like really bad. I daresay borderline "Ride to Hell" bad. I would hope it turns out to be a good game, but...holy shit.

At least the behind the scenes voice-over stuff at the end was entertaining, but even there the juxtaposition between reading the dialogue and just goofing around bums me out.

Being the guys who worked on Duke Nukem Forever for all that time 3D Realms are going to have to prove to people that they actually know how to make something of quality in the modern games industry and this video doesn't remotely convey that. I mean obviously there's no way to pass actual judgement on their game, but this character design, graphical quality, and generally poorly conceived trailer isn't exactly going to convince people that they have their shit together. You start to wonder why this thing exists if all they have to show is a few character models and explosion effects sat in an endless black sandbox.

Aw, man. I would've absolutely played this game until I saw that it was just a fucking isometric shooter.

I loved Duke Nukem Forever for just how much it didn't give a shit.

As someone who makes a living making video game trailers, this shit blows my mind on how bad it its. Still images, a radio spot, heck even a gif would have been better. 3:30 of pure hot shit.

That is one of the dumbest character designs I have ever seen.

This is honestly one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. From the opening minute and a half of nothing, to the dead eyes, to the wooden animation, to the looping explosions... hell, when she points the shotgun at the screen you can actually see the gun-rack she picked it up from on the left hand side. Amateurish as shit

I like her, she's cool. The isometric viewpoint is a bit off a turnoff though. Shooters like that all feel a bit samey to me.

Aight so the first half of this trailer is a ripoff of a Deus Ex HR trailer, where Adam Jensen cracks a glass of liquor with his robot-arm while watching the news and then we have Terminator Judgment Day. Also, the character looks like a Skyrim modder's nightmarish creation.

Speaking of 2002. That's when this game was originally announced. Scott Miller was happy chatting about it to Gama all the way back then, as reported here.

12 years. I'm not sure there's any evidence that any of the design/ethos has been updated since.
