Borderlands 2 Finally Hits Vita on May 6

Wonder how the framerate'll be for this, as it was less than ideal on PS3, especially for some of those DLC packs. The Torque one was consistently running at what felt like 20fps, no joke.

I will play it this Christmas via PSPlus

Maybe it's just me but the video looked super choppy during gameplay.

This is a pretty decent fit for the Vita, Borderlands is so mindless and easy that you can hop in and hop out. Sleep mode will make it work well.

It looks so choppy that I think they should have faked the footage. Modern day Sony's gonna modern day Sony.

God dammit I hope it runs well, I think I wouldn't even mind if it were graphically weakened - just want that frame rate on a portable.

Can't wait another week. Will get a 2nd Vita.

That framerate is, uh...... something.

I'm not surprised that it looks like the other versions before the textures loaded in but the footage looked a bit choppy. A bad framerate on top of muddy textures sounds no bueno

Maybe Im wrong, but every time I've seen a trailer for a handheld sony game, the framerate always looks like shit. Happened with Killzone Mercenary, and that had fine framerate (actually great for what it pulls off).

I don't...understand why this is a thing. I love Borderlands and my Vita, but this just seems like a bad version of the original game. The whole concept is so weird to me.

@yummylee: Thats a big reason I always had trouble liking borderlands 2, too much going on for the system to handle (unless on PC, but mines too old anyhoo) resulting in massive FPS drops.

This is almost as weird as BioShock on Vita. Not the type of game I'd play on my Vita, but the more games the better and for someone who hasn't played the game yet (even though it was free on PS+), this seems like a great deal of content.

And now I need to buy a Vita >:l

I'm planning on getting a Vita soon so I might get the bundle if the game turns out to be good *crosses fingers*

This looks..kinda rough..

I don't really like the way shooters feel on a Vita. The sticks aren't great and those shoulders just don't feel right for this kind of game. I do hope, however, this game sells well. I'm always a fan of more variety.

Yeah, same =/ I at least completed NG+ with my main Siren character, but man... I would have played so much more of it had it not been for the lousy framerate. Like the original I played a little with each character, though I never got especially far with any of 'em, whereas I completed the first Borderlands at least once with every character. Only completed one of the DLC packs at that, being the pirate one, despite blindly buying the season pass. I attempted the Torque one, but as mentioned the framerate was simply unacceptable. Adding that on top of the traditionally poor texture pop-in certainly didn't help things, either.

Plus, when played in coop it was even worse! Split-screen was a fucking mess, like you'd expect, but even when playing online the framerate would always tank when playing with anymore than 2 people for some reason, and even then... I'm really surprised more people didn't make a fuss about the PS3 version frankly, because technically-speaking certain aspects were kinda disastrous.

You know, I would totally play a Borderlands style game of Vita. That just feels like a really good combination.

The frame rate definitely looked rough in that trailer.

If Sony really want to survive long term they need to come up with some original IP which isn't about blowing sh*t up or being totally out of left field. If only Nintendo could use hardware like the Vita... we need some new games!!!!!

This looks pretty rough. Choppy framerate, muddy textures, and it seems that you're only fighting one mob or two at a time. Bummer for Vita owners that need something to play.

Plenty of stuff to play on the vita. That being said the frame rate does look bad in this video.

Why would anyone who has access to the PC version (hell, even to the console version...!) play this? Man, I'll never understand the appeal of the Vita: a handheld that tries to be a console (that tries to be a PC in turn) when it's clearly not up to the task.

Just buy a shield and play it from your pc.

I think we are just about beyond the need for porting bigger releases to the vita.

Isn't this coming out a bit late? Anyone who wanted to play Borderlands 2 would have already played it, wouldn't they?

No idea why this exists. This is not the type of game the Vita needs.

Looks rough, especially coming from the PC version, but I'm really looking forward to this. Long since exhausted BL2 when at home, but the looting, almost endless game nature will fit great with the Vita for me.

Just hope I can live with the rear touch pad usage, I get hand pains if I try and use the Vita whilst holding it in a pincer to avoid the back touch.

Look at that hot framerate and those textures sure are something.

Yeah, seems like even Sony seems to have issue capturing video off those Vitas, maybe they should order one of those weird third party capture kits.

I have some flights coming up soon. I'm glad they're at least giving me more to use my vita for than just remote play.

This seems cool and all, and I love me some Borderlands, but I thought most people liked to play these multiplayer (I prefer solo, but I don't think that's the general consensus) and the Vita doesn't seem all that conducive to that. I'm also not sure how well those controls will hold up at the top levels, where you really have to be pretty mobile and accurate to survive.

I'm glad it's a thing, though. Even if it means it can't look as good (I barely touched my PS3 version after an initial few hours because it can't come close to how nice that game looks on PC, which is a shame - although I'd take that over a framerate disaster any day).

I want one of the new Vitas, just to have one to put PSone games on. Anyone know if BL2 is a cart or a download?
