Brad Takes On The Darkness

I don't even care about the poor playing, why do we have to shit on games constantly that are like 4 years old? Fuck man, call of duty 4 came out in 2007, that game is practically the same shooter we're still playing today online. Game development hasn't changed THAT much. I hear it constantly in videos and podcasts. It would sound differently if a 19 year old was wanting to take dumps on games for being half a decade old, but guys that started on nes(like me) or atari? Come on. You're also playing the hardest parts of a video game years after last touching it with about as much patience as a shark on a bloodied victim, of course it's going to feel crappy. 
 
I don't know, Brad seems better than this. Maybe it's just the atmosphere of other guys spamtalking by you as you die and being filmed. I wanted to play this again before Darkness II but meh, there are soooo many games I need to play new and old, no reason to go back to this.

Man, if i don't see a working script for "The Klingon" by the end of the year i'll be sorely disapointed.

Undying is installed on my computer right now. It absolutely holds up. Time for another random pc game!

Only just picked up that it's Mike Starr voicing Butcher Joyce.

Ugh. I'm gonna' say, the Klingon talk got really annoying really quickly. But then, so did Brad trying to run past all the story parts, which are the most interesting bit of The Darkness. There was some poetic justice to Dave inadvertently forcing him to watch that dialogue again.

An hour in, I had a few problems one was when Brad was actually asking the other two for help there was a slight pause and then they continued to talk about Klingon's without any help to Brad. The other was when Brad was trying to skip the story stuff when that was what they said in the video that they were playing to see the story play out. I was alright with them talking about films because I found that interesting but they seriously needed to stop everytime Brad was asking for help. They started doing that in the latter half of the hour which is good.

It's a pet peeve of mine when people jump around and stuff during in-game story stuff like that. Just put your controller down and pretend like it's a cut scene with one camera angle if it bothers you that much to be patient for two minutes.

Smoke machine, lighting, finish a game?

It's pretty painful that brad ends up bitching that the game hadn't been indicating how to get through that fight when it literally takes control away from him and has Jenny say "You can't fight it." "Find another way." "Fighting makes it stronger." while he continued to do nothing but try to fight it and wrestle for patrick's attention over their talk of "the klingon".

It's not the game's fault, it's on GB for ignoring the game straight up SAYING the solution multiple times per life and them ignoring it. They complain so much about the homogenization of shooters post-MW2, but then don't make the effort to engage with shooters from this early part of the generation that actually tried a lot of different things.

One of My fav game last gen and possibly the best atmosphere in a video game ever. Shame how brad rubs it off. it also looked astonishing when it came out and still does

Watching this video in 2020 and realizing most of the people they talked about dying have died.
