@vinsanityv22: When he said "right bumper" he meant "right bumber" not "R1." He's playing the 360 version of the HD collection.

Very excited for this series, I hope he plays through DMC3, which is truly the best of the trilogy. Also, I don't really agree with too much of the Brad hate going on in the comments, yeah he seems not to care for a lot of things and it's hard to impress him, but my main problem with Brad is his PC snob-ism. He seems to place framerate and graphics above all else and is always the first to "LOL this is shit clearly the PC is the superior version" which really gets under my skin (See the Farcry 3 Quick Look for a recent example of this at it's most snotty).

That aside, I love hearing Brads input on things, even when it's soley so I can disagree with him. Every member of the bombcrew (except maybe Vinny, but that's because I'm just as insane as he is when it comes to games) has a little thing about them that gets to me but why would you want everyone to be perfect, uninteresting robots.

Arrrgh... calling the R1 button "Right bumper". That's so wrong, Bradford. Stop acting like an Xbox kiddie - you've been playing games longer than that. Although you do seem to have, at best, a 3 month memory at times.

Great video regardless of the quirks! Never thought I'd want to see Brad play such a challenging, skill based game, but this is oddly compelling. I'd like to see him hop around and play all the games though; the first Devil May Cry is pretty rough nowadays. Especially compared to DmC. What were they thinking, putting jump on Triangle?

I'm enjoying this series. Really looking forward to Just Playin' Witcher.

Also, I always thought GameFAQs had a decent baseline rule abut posting spoilers. If it's on the back of the box, if it's in the trailer, if it's on the dust jacket, then it's probably fair game. There are exceptions I think, but as a general rule I'm ok with that.

I totally disagree with Brad. I was one of those entitled people screaming spoilers when he wrote that arkham city preview. When he says people often don't know what they're talking about when they scream "spoilers!", he's right, but that's exactly why he should take care when discussing narrative moments! Of course people don't know anything, but in a game that's at least partly story driven, the narrative is a key component of the experience. By assuming it doesn't matter because "it happens in the first 30 minutes" he's depriving people of that experience.

Seriously, stop spoiling completely unrelated games - even jokingly :'( Sometimes people want to be as clean as possible when going into a game, and not everybody has played every game from years ago...

Seriously, don't. I hate it when people can't discuss interesting stuff because somebody, somewhere, hasn't played a ten year old game or seen a twenty year old movie.

Agreed, although respect for seriously big turns or events in fiction should be left alone. Like Tyler Durden and Jack being the same person is a pretty big goddamn spoiler that everyone should experience like a virgin. To rob someone of that is a pretty big goddamn travesty.

A lot of other stuff that gets danced around, though? Not a big deal at all.

I'm generally getting annoyed with his attitude lately, he seems to be getting more and more arrogant and single-minded about his opinions, which makes his 'sleepy disinterest' shtickwhen other people are talking in some videos/podcasts to be even more irritating.

agreed,

he's easily i think the most cynical/jaded one out of the staff, dude needs to play different genres of games or seek out the different games... people give patrick shit, but at least hes branching out and seeking out different genres to keep his views healthy. and isnt as dismissive as brad.

Yeah, I hate to agree with you guys, but I do.

He seemed really disinterested in the game most of the time, was beating everything in the most detached way possible, pushing through it, etc. And he used that time to mostly be negative about other games, both old and new.

I think it really put me over the line when he said "If Dark Souls looked this good, maybe I'd play it." That's just ridiculous. I mean, I accept that the staff isn't particularly interested in that series, but that just makes him sound petty and dismissive for no real reason.

I'm not particularly interested in seeing Brad shit on games. If I wanted that, I'd go to 4chan.

Brad: I've never played Devil May Cry 2

Reminds me of how he described Alan Wake as very "Twin Peaksy" and later admitted that he had never seen a single episode of Twin Peaks.

By the way - good to know that quoting is as jacked as it has ever been. It made me nostalgic for BBCode.

I'll be honest I was pretty bored throughout this video. It has all the frustration of a Breaking Brad video with very little of the charm of an endurance run. Idle talk about whatevs can't really hold my attention for very long. I enjoy listening to you guys but the video itself almost made it feel tedious. At some point this might as well be a podcast. I think I'm going to wait until Brad gets to DMC2 to start watching again. Thanks for the video!

I feel like if either Brad or Vinny weren't in the profession that they are currently in, they would be as worried as everyone else is about spoilers.

Exactly. Brad doesn't care because he's used to playing things before they're out and for free no less, but you and I don't get that same privilege. I don't want to know what happens in a story before I play it, even if it's something that Brad thinks is inconsequential.

Like telling somebody that Assassin's Creed is set in the future, not the Crusades, is a spoiler. Yes, you find out in the first five seconds of the game, but where it is in the game doesn't matter. If I didn't know before playing, then it's a spoiler. Telling me that it's like five hours before I play as Connor in the AC III is totally a spoiler. And telling me that before I've gotten a chance to experience it just because Brad already has and doesn't think it's a big deal absolutely robs me of the enjoyment of discovering it for myself.

The most frustrating part is that Brad understands this. He does. That's why he never talks about the turning point boss in DmC. "You just have to see it for yourself. It's amazing." He's deemed that one worthy of not being spoiled, but if he doesn't think something is that cool, he'll go right ahead and spoil it.

If you are that sensitive about discovering every little nuance of a game for yourself, you have no business consuming most of the content on this site. As much as I agree that getting shit spoiled for you sucks, at some point the bombcrew has to talk about specifics of a game and they can't have a natural conversation about something if they are constantly making sure that nothing that comes out of their mouth could be classified as a spoiler. There are times when they cross the line and say something that really should have been kept from people who have not played the game, but by and large, I think they're pretty good about saying inconsequential stuff that doesn't really matter.

At the end of the day I accept that if I'm listening to a podcast where they talk about a game, I expect to hear stuff about said game that I did not know before. And besides, some of the best Bombcast moments in recent memory have happened because they were talking spoilers.

I played through like half the game earlier today, so it's really amusing watching the way Brad fights Griffon compared to the way I beat him. Ran off, bought Inferno for Ifrit, and then burned the chicken down. :)

Keep the spoilers coming. Somebody needs to destroy the stupid assumption that a) only things that they have seen are fair game for discussion and b) that being told what happens in a story immediately ruins the story (spoilers: Hamlet dies at the end).

Hear, hear! They are not advertising games, they are reviewing games. Having restricted conversations about games by dancing around the subject is quite frankly annoying and needs to stop. Everything is fair game.

Agreed. I'd go as far as saying that reviews as a means of buying advice is an antiquated idea, and that reviews, now, are a device of discourse on a product. Therefore, spoilers are more than welcome. Look at the DmC Devil May Cry review, most of the people commenting were complaining about the score the game deserved - obviously they weren't looking for buying advice, but a discussion on the quality of a product.

If you're afraid of any sort of information about a game before you've finished it, you should probably avoid websites that discuss video games in any sort of meaningful way.

No no no Brad. If you, with knowledge of a particular game, have decided that something isn't a spoiler because of the context and go ahead and blab about it; you are engaged in spoilerish behaviour. It is a spoiler because you have just told someone that that thing isn't a consequential part of the game, when ideally the person would like to experience for themselves whether something is or is not consequential. Which in turn robs them of some part of the reveal. It is sort of like saying "there are no plot twists at the end."

The only sound reason I can see for someone getting upset about someone revealing how many chapters a game is that in certain games where there is a false ending, that person is just going to know when the game ends because they know how many chapters or levels there are. They will simply not be fooled by the fake ending or the "ending-before-the-ending" scenario, and that will lessen the impact of the fake ending or the actual ending or both in conjunction.

I'm starting to understand Jeff's annoyance during the Mass Effect 3 issues from Brad's constant praise for every single aspect of the new DMC. It's like geeze it's fine if people don't like it for being so incredibly different it's not a big deal. It's not necessary to constantly go on about it so much.
