E3 will hopefully explain a lot of what this game is about. I'm still under the impression that I will be able to play with my friends that own a XB1 where I have the PS4, is that in anyway true or am I just making shit up?

that whole journey style multiplayer where random people will spawn in for story missions is probably one of the most exciting things for me. really hope this game does super well and becomes a household name like call of duty.

Looks like they're taking the Journey approach to multiplayer. Slowly getting more interested in this

Halo Firefight: The Game, with a supposed $500 million dollar budget, and it still has canned animations from Halo all over the place.

Well if you're anything like me it's because we still haven't been introduced to one single character and only vaguely have they told us what the story's about. Something about how you're an alien protecting the Earth from other aliens?

Anyway because of all that the game comes across as kinda generic and lacking in personality. When you look at it all we see is a Halo-ish FPS game where you run around shooting dudes in the face. Oh and there's some MMO elements to it and a monster crab.

From my understanding, the game is basically next gen borderlands with higher player count?

Microsoft and sony would never agree to that, but it COULD be done on a technical level.

My concern is just how PvP competitive multiplayer fits in.

I dont want to be offline for a night, and see my co op partners suddenly 10 levels higher cause they decided to play PvP

They must have spend all that money on hookers and cocaine or something.

I am still quite excited for this game, but I really would like to hear from a person outside of Bungie what the hell it is exactly and how you play it. So, I'll be waiting a few more weeks, I imagine!

Oh boy, switching from 1st person and 3rd person mid game... Because that's ALWAYS worked out before...

Halo has had this since Halo 3 with their picking up emplacement turrets. Also, i've played enough 3rd person games that i don't really think this is an issue for most people.

So its a borderlands + halo + planetside 2 open world mmo shooter?

I don't really know why to be excited about this, it's not a rich single player world, it seems like another shooter with loot...

I bet that guy said 'you just push the shoulder buttons' and someone stepped in and made him emphasize R1 and L1 very clearly so people know it's BETTER ON PLAYSTATION

I really want to get excited about this game but every demo of the combat looks extremely rote. Heck, even Warframe looks more exciting than what they've shown and that game is F2P.

Bungie are a wierd studio for me. I get really excited about the games they talk about but when I play them they do nothing for me. That video might as well say it's Halo from the look of all those long shots of the combat. I was excited about exploring, finding something then having an adventure spiral from that, much in the same way Skyrim did. But this doesn't look like that game they pitched.

I was very cool on Destiny since the announcement up till now. But you know what? Whatever the game might actually be going for; it does look very solid. You can tell from the animations and the snappy-ness of everything that this is a quality product.

I still don't completely comprehend what the game is about, but I will most definitely buy it just from these impressions alone. That said, with the budget they announced for this game I can't help but think it's going to be a failure financially. It will sell units for sure, but I think (future me will look over this post again 5 years from now) they are crazy when they are saying they are making it a 10-year product.

That said, I would have certainly said the same prior to World of Warcraft launch. I think I actually respect them for taking this huge risk. Yes, it's Bungie, but it's a new IP. I hope they will succeed in their ambition, but we'll see what happens. Currently, I'm very skeptical.

i don't think they made any audacious claims about the game/gameplay save the dynamic co-op through the campaign and it looks like they achieved that. i get the impression some of you were assuming this to be way more than they claimed. i thought "borderlands meets halo" from day one, personally. still looks damn good and fun to me.

though it does suck it's not on peecee. and i do think t's ridiculous activision took such a big gambit on this franchise, if the stories are true.

Also this looks super bland. I want to be excited for this but they just haven't shown us anything I find interesting yet. Maybe I'm just done with the FPS genre for a while.

So I don't get this game. Is it straight up Borderlands? That gameplay demo they had a while back made it seem like it was Borderlands. I'm not alone in this? Am I taking crazy pills?!

No I don't quite get the confusion on what this game is trying to be, Halolands that is what this is, with some Journey-esqe MP.

I have a lot of faith in Bungie. I'm still a little confused by what the overall game is - my best guess is that it will be a cross between Halo and Borderlands and that could be a very big win in my opinion.

Yea, I just dont have high hopes for this game. Really dont see anything to set it apart or more importantly improve on much of anything in FPS or MMO genres. I kinda hope it flops.

I'm confused. My excitement and interest have rapidly dropped off after watching this.

Hearing them talk about their incredible combat made it sound incredibly dull. "Pull left and right trigger together!" that's pretty much that last thing I want to hear.

I was hoping this was going to be more akin to a Diablo FPS and succeed where Borderlands failed. Even the art style seems to be gradually meshing into the typical designs we see more and more. Which is very strange, not only because It's Bungie but because that first gameplay they showed us looked so amazing.

@smiddy: Sorta the same deal here. I want to look forward to this game and I want to hope it'll be great, but I didn't care for Bungie's last few Halo games so part of me doesn't want to get suckered in again.

also, a note to developers of sci fi games: the earth is the least interesting place you could possibly choose to place your story. a major part of sci fi appeal is space which has an infinite supply of alien stuff in it that is not the same old fucking earth and moon that everybody sees ever fucking day of their miserabl... sorry. i get carried away. i read a lot of sci fi. it hurts me, pains me, in the lower abdominal region, when i sense mediocre sci fi is being made. xp
