Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts Stalks Stores Today

I think their hunting "pros" are some crack heads they found outside the developer's office. Give you a dollar if you let me glue ping pong balls to your face!

Despite your "elegant" response, this is not hunting. Native tribes hunt, using stealth and tracking skills to kill animals for food, clothing, shelter, tools, etc. "Hunters" in industrialized countries today just use advanced weapons technology to get their rocks off from killing things. Some use the meat, but most I know do not. Furthermore, hunting for meat is not necessary anymore in our global economy, which brings us back to doing this for the fun of killing something - one of our more gross primal instincts which has been remarkably suppressed through societal contracts which are a real hallmark of human achievement. Then there is the whole issue of extinction and ecosystem change being driven by humans, of which over hunting plays a role and of which we have any documented cases. So even if you don't care about living creatures and just want to kill them for fun instead of for a reason, it will come back to bite you in your own (well, future generations of your family at least) ass.

I hunt from time to time (relax wanna be eco folks, I mount the head and eat the rest whenever I can), but these games were always just dumb.

That screen cap and the final shot of "Soon To Eviscerated By A Bear Man" made it worth a click though, I'll give them that.

These games are always so terribad it's not even funny any more. The only hunting game I ever enjoyed was Deer Hunter 2. Still the best.

I wish @drewbert and @vinny would try out that f2p hunting game theHunter, now that it has multiplayer. I'd love to see them try and shoot some virtual cute little animals.

This game needs a Giantbomb quicklook and a multi-player mode where it's animals vs hunters.

I love that the Cabela games keep getting released because it means there is a whole part of the videogame market that I am not aware of.
