you guys need to learn about compression connectors. I use them at work and they never give me any problems. I always had problems with crimped wires.

I work with RG6 cable for a living, in Australia all the cable rolls I have used are marked every meter (every meter they have white writing on them describing what the cable is and next to that, the remaining left on the wheel.) I imagine in the US they label it every x feet or so on and so forth. Would have saved all the walking :p

Reminds me of using blunt pliers to strip power extension cables for class. Also, I want to be buff too showoff.
