It's like some weird dimensional space pocket where arcades aren't dead.

Posted by Teaspoon83

What I also liked about this video... the low rumble growing in volume as Ryan moved towards the doors to the convention.

Posted by lhaymehr

Wow you guys walked into some kind of time rift. Looks awesome.

So this is what the West Coast is like.

Giant Bomb guys - I love you, but seriously, you guys need to buy a steadycam or learn to hold the camera better.  Also, not constantly zoom in on everything.  It's getting pretty tough to watch some of these videos without getting motion sickness.

Not trying to be a jerk, it's just that the camerawork needs some serious improvement.

What I'm wondering is how much power does this place draw.

Posted by Spiritof

If I lived within 500 miles of this, I'd be going every year they'd have me.

Posted by KuribosShoe

fun fact: the song playing is The Circus by Erasure

I didn't know they had another song!

Posted by KuribosShoe

video was amazing.  I want to go!

Posted by Spiritof

 3m34s = The Tabletop Sensai
Posted by ArmedBear

I wish they had a little Japanese pachinko parlor.  Pachinko is extreme.

Posted by Mezmero

Dudes, the arcade is always awesome.  Unless its in a crappy movie theater.

Posted by Yelix
@KuribosShoe:  The Circus in Robot Unicorn Attack 2 confirmed?
Edited by Pop

It looks like jeff's gameroom :D
I didn't see any street fighter.

Posted by nick_verissimo

Anyone know if there are any cons. like this in the Toronto area? I'd love to go to one.

Posted by Deathpooky

This seems like as good as any place to post this:

Gawd, I miss arcades.  Will they ever make a come-back?
Posted by Vigorousjammer

Man, I really wanna goto this next year, but I'm allllll the way out in Long Island.
We don't even have any good arcades on Long Island anymore...

Posted by Contra

To me that looked like a 1980's dystopian vision of the future, without the heavily armed guards on raised platforms ,atmospheric smoke, or giant cage for matches in the middle.

Posted by rentfn

Yes the real true APB. play that!!!!!

I'm afraid not, but they will live on in your heart, noble gamer, as long as you cherish their memory.

This beats Game Room.

Posted by Bartman3010

I do kind of wish the arcade cabinets were readable.

But this video was enough to make me want to go to California Extreme...

Posted by SuperJoe

It's like vinyl, only 1000x more expensive

Posted by Dpower94

I'm surprised there were no fighting game machines.

Posted by glitznglam_style

Holy crap, I've just been transported back to the '80s. XD
Edited by Patman99

Turn left here to enter 1980s.

Love the cocktail arcade cabinets. This is what Game Room should have been.

Posted by Ronald

Oh, if only Game Room could be like this. Packed with every different type of game (even if not always playable just to have that paddle thing) and packed with people, not just a dozen friends' avatar standing around broken.

Posted by AuthenticM

I have a strange feeling of déjà vu. Were they there last year?

Posted by Dain22
@Dpower94: Or DDR for that matter.
Posted by onimonkii

man imagine if they just charged a quarter for the games and left it open all year.

instant arcade revival, a body on every machine.

Posted by hi_im_rob

Is this place licenced?  If not it should be.

Posted by FuzzYLemoN

I don't think I've ever seen a pinball machine in my life.
This concept of a gathering of these devices terrifies me.

Posted by DevWil

bummer that you can't read most of the titles on the machines.  i know it's nearly impossible to get that kind of thing legible on video, not blaming anybody.

Posted by BaconGames

Middle-aged fat guys with pony-tails need to die.  If I were in the business of killing them, business would be booming.

Great to see a lot of different ages, races, and genders too.  Like many others, I wish I was there.

Posted by Sarumarine

Ryan Davis is weak to Asteroids confirmed. Nice that you had the time to bother that one dude riding the bike. Was he playing a pinball table with it? That's crazy. I thought it was an arcade game at first glance.

Posted by Symphony

What game was it that had The Circus by Erasure in it? o.O

Posted by Subjugation

Omg, the signature click of the Time Crisis pistols. Such a good time.

Posted by JessicaBoo

This is just...... To me, HEAVEN! :) i would love to be there!
Edited by JamesM

I would love for something like this to be anywhere near me. I'm not a huge arcade nut or retro game aficionado, but there is something undeniably cool about vintage arcade machines. I particularly like vector display ones, since they offer something quite unlike what modern devices provide.

Posted by Alphazero

I feel like the Dude in Big Lebowski listening to the sounds of bowling. Arcade is my favorite white noise of all.

Posted by Daryl

I might overdose on ponytails.

Posted by zombiesatemycereal
@Dain22:  There was a DDR machine at the end, right next to top skater.
Posted by babz

i wish we had events like this in the uk :(

Posted by Korwin

*sob* It's just so damn beautiful.

Posted by swat200

wait wait.....was that rick astley on that video screen singing? WTF

Posted by Daftasabat
@babz:  Me too, just seeing glimpses of the old greats brings back fond memories. We need events like this in the UK!
Posted by DiscoDuck8k

Looks really fun. I don't even remember the last time I was in a proper arcade.

Posted by Mariorules85

I gotta tell ya... this is 8 minutes and 15 seconds of pure arcade nostalgia!

" Also, power stance! "
Indeed, Ryan knows a good stance when he sees one.

I hope they have air conditioning in that place...
