I don't even know what to say about this. I think Treyarch has done some great stuff in the past, but what the fuck? When did Call of Duty go from being an intense FPS -- that was at least grounded in real life -- to this over the top Syfy Channel bullshit? I have nothing against this type of shit, but the Call of Duty series has gone completely out of control.

I'm really surprised how many people are jumping to science fiction conclusions with this. Maybe I'm missing something, but all the equipment in the main room doesn't look all that high-tech to me, and I all they really say happens is applying volts to a dude from a guy with a slight, indiscernible accent. How did we jump to an Animus?

Ah, the annual November cash in. Be interesting to see how this does compared to an Infinity Ward game. Over-saturation is a concept Activation doesn't seem to understand.

This seems inviting.  I have always liked the way Treyarch stylises their games.

Okay, so here's what I've learned about the game so far (Spoilers):
 
 You are an exVietnam era special forces guy who was brought back from a coma by an evil corporation bent on discovering the secrets of your lineage of Tier one operators, you initially work for them, but then break out, having discovered a conspiracy about the Knights Templar.  You then assemble a rag-tag team of oil-riggers who steal an SR-71 blackbird and fly it into South America, where you proceed to turn on your aimbots and fire noob-tubes out of the windows, killing all of the corrupt US officials working for Saddam Hussein.
 
 However, in your absence, Russia invaded.  So you have to fly back to the US, where you meet with the cast of Lost to develope a cannon that shoots money and strippers. The game then becomes a top-down 4 player coop RPG. You have to travel around the world to collect 8 crystals that are part of a secret Nazi conspiracy to kill JFK.
 
Then you travel to Russia where you have a quick-time event level (That's: the entire level is one quick-time sequence) where you jump a 500 foot casam, heatshotting the Russian Prime Minister with your golden chrome Desert Eagle .50 cal. Then you wake up and it was all a dream.

It's a prequel set before the events in Modern Warfare 1.

Treyarch is getting off WWII and going into Vietnam and the Cold War, better sooner then later.

Can't wait. I gotta say I enjoyed WaW I lot more than MW2 and   Treyarch gives the pc community a lot more love than IW.
