Great! Surprised however it's not on PS4 as well, but you know, Microsoft exclusivity and all.

I hope that this doesn't release for a full 60 bones on Steam. If that's the case, I'll just wait it out for a sale. Am finding it a bit weird that MS is choosing to port over their biggest (in my opinion) exclusive for the Xbox One. Who makes the money from sales of this on PC? Capcom or Microsoft?

Edit: This also has to be the most Dead-Rising-iest trailer for Dead Rising 3 that I've seen.

As cool as that is, Microsoft still doesn't control the PC gaming space. Some people act like PC/Xbox is the same as the PS4/PS3/Vita ecosystem. Nope. They may as well be Steam boxes (except in the rare cases of things like Titanfall, in which case the money still isn't going to MS).

Steam is a great service that is taking control of a lot of aspects of PC gaming, but it's nothing... nothing... without Windows. The reason Valve is angling to get SteamOS going strong is to stop Microsoft from having so much control over them. I don't see that happening for a long time though, if ever, because Windows is so entrenched as the PC gaming platform. And even if SteamOS takes off you're still talking 30+ years of gaming history on Windows that isn't going away.

And then on top of that Microsoft control DirectX, which 99% of 3D games use.

No offense intended but you can't know much about PC gaming if you think Windows/Microsoft is expendable.

As cool as all that is, Microsoft does not have 'control' over Valve. You're overstating things. Steam is on Windows because Windows is prevalent on PCs and open for development. Valve is the one the benefits from having DR3 on it. There is almost no benefit for Microsoft, other than it appears to not be going to Sony, so it's a zero sum gain. Loss for the Xbox, no gain for the PS.

Dead Rising 2 runs great for me on the PC, shame I didn't like the actual game though. I'll wait until 3 is a fiver on steam.

Surprised this isn't also hitting PS4

It's a Microsoft published game. Windows is a Microsoft platform. PS4 is not.

There's no indication in the trailer that this is being published on the PC by MS, no mention of MS at all in the trailer actually. Not saying it's coming to the PS4, but any assumption at this point is just speculation.

Will play it on the PC at some point regardless.

Another reason not to buy an Xbox One.

Agreed. I played Titanfall; didn't need an Xbox One. Will be playing DeadRising 3; won't need an Xbox One. Microsoft is doing a bang up job making it so I don't need to buy their console to play their biggest console exclusives. I won't be surprised if, in a year from now, we'll be able to play Sunset Overdrive on PC too.

Sunset Overdrive looks fucking awful from that unfinished quick look they did.

More proof that the Xbox One is becoming a failure. I remember when DR3 was first released as a Next-Gen console exclusive. Now it's getting a PC Port because the game clearly didn't make the money it was suppose to for a big launch title. But all of this is good news to me. Like I said from the beginning, this next console generation will be ruled by the PC and the PS4.

It might be. It might not be. I don't have enough information to judge. However, with yet another third party "exclusive" finding its way to PC, I can't see why Sunset Overdrive wouldn't also end up on PC within a year of initial release.

The Capcom Vancouver team wanted to move away from Frank West, which is why he doesn't appear in DR3. It's also why in the story he cut all ties to the existing characters and why they set DR3 far enough into the future that Frank would be in his 50's when the game takes place.

The only reason original Off The Record got made was because DR2 didn't do as well as Capcom would've liked it to, so Capcom Vancouver (then Blue Castle) was sort of forced into doing a Fan Service Cash Grab adaption of DR2.

And where did you get this information from?
