Might just have to get the 360 version, since the PS3 version will be a couple months late...

The game looks fantastic.

I really don't want to drop $100 on a PSmove or a Kinect just to play a 90-minute downloadable game how ever much I love rez.

@Cypher: Why would I put Space Neon Lobsters in the deck when they're not Lobsters in the video? They're whales. Or giant fish-esqe things, at least.

This is just a slight retooling of the original joke to fit the content of the video.

1.  It can be played with a regular controller.
2.  It's a full retail release.
3.  Sounds like this game is not for you either way, so why bother posting in this topic?

I, for one, can't wait to use my Kinect to play an actual game.  This should be sweet.

@phish09: I think he's saying it should have been a downloadable game. I'm also interested in it, but as I can't really justify paying £100+ to play it right now.

Hope the Move version is good- anyone playing the kinect version know if you use two hands at once? I don't want to buy a 2nd move wand if I don't have to!

Well my bad. I thought it would be for me. For awhile I thought they said that it was kinect only. I heard rumors of it maybe being a full retail game, but was not sure. I guess this game isn't for me since I have not been totally up on the news. :(

Oh well, I lived the dream of playing this game while it lasted...

It's a sad day and age when the length of a game is apparently the only important factor when buying one.  Regardless of quality and how enjoyable it is.    Hell most great shoot em ups don't even break half an hour.  Just look at the crazy visual effects this game has, your eyes and ears are constantly stimulated for 90 minutes.  A game like this can't be 10 hours long, that would be nuts.  But hey if length is all that matters to you another game came out this week, go ahead and enjoy Duke Nukum Forever buddy.  I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Got it, now just need to get home and play it. The length of it doesn't bother me, any more than it did with Rez, which I replayed many times to try improving my score, unlocking achievements, etc.

I look at it as a 90-minute interactive music album. I've had great CDs that I've listened to over and over (Genki Rockets being one of those), so I think I'll end up doing that with this.

Aside: Green case, not purple case...interesting.

@XChairmanDrekX: Of course length is not the only important factor, but for a full retail release, I expect a game to last a little longer than this. Fact is I really want to play this game, I've been really looking forward to it, but the length makes me feel like it should have probably been a <$20 XBLA release. Buddy.

It is slightly cheaper at $50 dollars though.  Oh well, to each his own I suppose.  But it's not like you play a game like this once, multiple playthroughs are encouraged.

If it doesn't have replay value even for those of us who eat breathe and shit Rez, then something is wrong with it.

I picked it up at midnight since my local GameStop was also open at midnight for Duke. I spent a very addictive 2 hours with it, only unlocked 3 of the 5 stages. The game grades harder with the controller than the Kinect, and felt like at points was actually more difficult in sections with the controller. The Kinect works well this this game, better than anything else I've played with it. I was surprised by how responsive the cursor even was. It is very much so like Rez, and even has leader boards for your scores. It's a beautiful experience visually. I highly recommend it, a lot of fun and a challenge to it too.

Dammit, now I want a t-shirt that says "I eat breathe and shit Rez". I just ordered a 1080p projector upgrade, the timing of which was specifically dictated by my desire to play Child of Eden on my 10' screen, and nothing is going to detract from my enjoyment of it. I will never even hear the neighbors knocking with their petty noise complaints!

@NintenJoe: Thanks, that's so great to hear. What you didn't mention was the music. How is it, and does it all hold up to the music we've heard so far (like at last year's E3)?

@umdesch4: It is a very enjoyable music experience down to a remix of the Genki Rockets tune, that we know from all of Miz's other games, on the main menu. Completely reminded me of music found in Rez, though perhaps more of a normal music sound than techno sound found in Rez? It's been a year since I last played it so I'd have to go back. The sound effects from the cymbal when you lock on to the clap like sound effect whenever you activate the rapid fire weapon sound exactly like Rez. There were points in the levels where I thought I was just frantically shooting the purple enemies just to not get hurt with no rhythm that was making a music tune within the level's music that just surprised me.

Looks good, I hope the bring this to PS Vita as well.  With front and rear touchpanels, it could be pretty cool.

This game is great.  Much more of a direct sequel to Rez than the marketing indicated.  Music is very beat driven just as it was in Rez.  It's slightly harder than Rez in spots (area 4 end boss, last form).  To those whining about length, this isn't the kind of game you play through once and put away.  It's a shooter.  You play for unlocks, achievements, and score; but most of all this is a great game fire up after work and zone out.  Anyone who likes the game will easily be able to get 10 hours out of it before getting bored.  More than that if you're into playing the leaderboards.

edit---- I play with controller.  Can't comment on motion control.
