I thought this was gonna be like, Aliens: Total War when it was announced. What was shown felt about right.

I hope they get this game right.

I think Patrick Klepek uttered these words a while back and they're exactly what needs to be said. I can't help but hold my breath for this one.

I just hope they don't have too many of these kinds of interviews. Funny thing with horror, if you show too much of it, it's not scary when you get a hold of it.

I really appreciate that they're trying not to script encounters. Means that future playthroughs might stay scary.

They keep referencing "the Alien". Is there only one alien in the game, or multiple? Do you actually kill Aliens or not? It would be terrifying if the only real recourse you had in the game was to drive it off somehow, and to know that that same one is going to keep hunting you. It would probably drive a sense of twisted attachment if done right.

Alien game I've been waiting for; is that you?

Posted by TJUK

If they can pull it off, this game could be amazing.

Posted by ashton

Must refrain from watching this. I will just wait for July and pray this game is good!

Rome 2 turned out really great... this should be fine...

Edited by chilipeppersman

@believer258: seriously. If this fails I will never be interested in an alien game....ever again. mark my words....

A truly scary Alien game is really due. I wish them well and I want them to scare my pants off.

Will we finally get the Alien game we deserve?

Teenage drew is still hyped for colonial marines.

I was recently watching the making of Alien, the original movie. A 2 hour documentary style piece showing the film from the troublesome beginnings of the main writer trying to bounce back from a disastrous Dune production that ended in failure, to getting Giger involved and mainly showing how hard Ridley worked to make the movie the success it was. It's really spectacular and it's on YouTube.

JUST PLUG IT IN TO MY VEIIIIINSSS. Feel like I been waiting my whole life for a game like this. Yes yes yes I must play it.

Unless it turns out shit, god damn for all that is good in the universe I hope it is as amazing as it potentially could be.

Also: yes that is exactly what they are doing with this. You nailed it. Think of this game like what Resident Evil 3 did with Nemesis only noooowhere near as obvious and simple and you are almost completely defenseless. Like they say in the vid even if you find a gun it'll probably be more a tool than a viable form of offense.

No sight of a Gearbox logo or Randy Pitchford. So I have some hope. However there was a dude wearing Glasses and he had a beard. It could be Pitchford in disguise!

Looks interesting, but I am getting a little tired of first person heavy breathing. It's the canned laughter of video games now.

Posted by FilipHolm

These guys are REALLY serious about their game. Jesus... smile or something

Posted by Grixxel

I think i'm too chicken shit to play this.

Posted by banicabolnica

I don't want to look like an ass but I heard the same praise for Rome II... how they wanted to do so and so ... how the AI is thinking and how is adapting to your play style ... I HOPE IT'S GOOD!

PLEASE GUYS!

I want to love again, but I've been hurt before.

How do you make a completely non scripted AI in what seems to be a linear story? I have some ideas, but I'd like to see how they run it.

Posted by Cold_Wolven

Definitely a game I'm keeping my eye on and hoping CA can deliver on its premise.

Posted by Hewitt

Yeah they said the AI in Rome 2 was gonna be good as well...I really want this to be good, but I just can't get hyped for it.

Posted by indieslaw

I want this to be a roguelike.

Pretty sure there's just one

Creative Assembly can't even get RTS right. The genre they are most experienced in. Also, don't believe their lies about AI.

Posted by TheManiacsGnome

@banicabolnica: @hewitt: @flacracker: Guys, guys...

Same name, different team.

"The Creative Assembly, best known for their work on the Total War game series, began work on the game after completion of Viking: Battle For Asgard. A six-person team developed a small multiplayer game to pitch the idea to Sega, a "hide and seek" game where the Alien role had to be controlled by one of the players. The game "went a bit viral within Sega", and the project was approved. The developers were frustrated at being unable to talk about their own game during Aliens: Colonial Marines's troubled release. The game will only feature limited gunplay as the studio feel that action-oriented games such as Dead Space have "marginalised" real horror games.A substantial number of former Crytek staff are working on the project."

You three must also realize the AI behind a game like Total War is very different from something like a single Alien, comparing this to Rome 2 isn't fair. The game and the people behind it deserve a fair shake before you cynical wet towels gum up the works.

I'm not all that into games where you can't fight back, but it does at least make sense in this context.

Posted by BigD145

I expect nothing!

Posted by tourgen

Well they have a great sales pitch at least. I'm optimistic. This could be a fun horror game.

Edited by DukesT3

You know, I've seen Aliens and Alien Resurrection before I actually saw Alien for the first time on Netflix... and it still fucking scared me.

I'll let you bang my GF if this game pans out like we all hope it will.

Normally that would be totally sexist and offensive, but in this context it's kinda true lol :P

Posted by PhilipDuck

Just got to wait and see with this, sounds good.. but a concept is a concept...

Posted by KatyGaGa

@indieslaw: I was thinking the exact same thing. A Spelunky-like thing.

Posted by blacklab

I'm still not sure if what they described sounds fun.

Posted by MeatSim

Seems like there going in the right direction, but who knows how this will turn out.

It sounds like Amnesia but with Alien. And that would be amazing.

Please gaming jesus, please. PLEASE let this game be good.

Posted by Ninja_Welshman

Ok ok, i'm in......again. This is starting to feel like an abusive relationship. I know there is a great Alien game out there somewhere. Could this be it?

Edited by Three0neFive

I want this to be a roguelike.

Wasn't the WayForward DS game pretty much a roguelike?

Posted by indieslaw

@three0nefive: Not sure, which one? I see a lot of licensed stuff listed.

@katygaga: Yeah, just like, how far can you get before the Alien gets you? Maybe differing objectives or something. I'd be okay if it was a little less linear than Spelunky.

Posted by Ghost_Cat

Someone payed good money for this trailer: well paced, dialed in the mood correctly, and there was a sense of ambiance much like Alien.

Edited by ViciousBearMauling

Oh man.... They're saying all the things I want to hear....

Too good to be true!!!! *Fingers in ears!*
